I FINALLY got around to buying the Universal Frankenstein Legacy collection. Looking forward to sharing the REAL monster with my son. He's only seen him in his later appearances as a lumbering doofus. No slight to Glenn Strange, but Karloff's monster was a fascinating character, not just a walking set piece.
Just got the Legacy Collections of The Mummy, Invisible Man & Creature for about $45 shipped at NBCUniversalstore.com. Not a bad deal for the classics.
Thanks for the heads up. I've been waiting for a good deal on these for a while now. Got the Creature, Frankenstien, & Wolfman collections for just over $40 shipped!!! Great deals!

You can pick up up the individual discs for $13.95 each with free shipping through October. I ordered a copy of "Mr. Wu" to replace my home made VHS copy.

I picked up GRINDHOUSE on Blu-ray this past week. I already had the two individual movies ("Planet Terror" and "Death Proof"), but I now finally have it as it was meant to be seen. It was fun sitting through the whole thing in one shot and finally seeing the three trailers in between the two films. I wish I managed to catch it when it played theatrically.
I just picked up "The Old Dark House" (1932), which is directed by James Whale. My horror tastes focus more on the old school Universal pictures. Not really a product of the new stuff being bad, just that when it is too realistic it scares the crap out of me.
I picked up two Boris Karloff double features at Big Lots last weekend for $3 each.
One set had "The Body Snatcher" and "I Walked with A Zombie". I saw "Body Snatcher" on TCM a few years back and thought it was a great movie. Karloff's performance is just downright chilling. He's one evil SOB in that one. It was directed by Robert Wise no less! Not sure about "Zombie", but heck, it's Karloff, and it's by the same producer, Val Lewton, so why not?
Same reason I picked up the other set, with "Isle of the Dead" and "Bedlam". I mean, how can you go wrong with 4 Karloffs for $6?
Karloff isn't in I walked with a Zombie. It's pretty good tho. Isle of the Dead is really cool, and some of the mythology in it was used in a Hellboy story.

Huh, I hadn't noticed that, but you're right! Oh well, Body Snatcher is well-worth $3 on it's own. I'll have to get to watching these soon.
