The wife is going on an overnight trip, which times perfectly with my latest Naschy purchase.

When Matt described the film in his customs thread, I realized I'd never seen it! Can't have that happen.

    Amazon to the rescue!

^That looks cool. His essay piqued my interest as well. Be sure to give us a review!

Sure, it's nonsense but fun, earnest nonsense. Waldemar (who seems to be unrelated to any other movie Waldemar) seeks Dr Jeckyll's help (who looks scarily like Lee Majors) and is turned into Mr Hyde, then back into a Werewolf in a cool disco scene. Not much of a destination but a fun journey.

The DVD I bought wasn't great, an old print with bad cuts, better versions exist. That's even the wrong poster on the box, the sloppy art should have been my first clue. I paid $15 for this "Limited edition" which is just a tarted up $2.99 bin release.

Just saw Manster the other night, not to bad for a low budget movie

Watched a good chunk of Naschy's "Werewolf vs. Vampire Woman", off that set of horror flicks the wife and kids got me last year. The print is pretty bad, but it's watchable. I think it's another TV edit, as there seems to be scenes leading to boobies, but no payoff.

It's actually pretty good. The vampire woman scenes are pretty atmospheric, and somewhat reminiscent of Hammer's "The Vampire Lovers", albeit with a 1/16th of the budget.

Not exactly a horror film, but I bought Something Weird at the thrift store. An H.G. Lewis film. It was so damn bad, but I love it.

Just bought "Nazis at the center of the Earth". I'm a sucker for frozen Nazi Zombies, what can I say.

Some explicit torture scenes in there (not really my taste), but Robo-Hitler is not something you see every day....

"Werewolf VS the Vampire Woman" is one of the better ones, the problem with Naschy is a lot of what is out there is choppy TV prints of some of his worst like "Fury of the Wolfman" or "Assignment Terror" (which I personally enjoy), so it's a great misrepresentation.

Not a purchase - a borrow, but I just watched Tales From the Crypt (1973)

                    I always liked that one

I watched the rest of it, and I thought it was actually pretty well done. Very atmospheric, despite the rough print that was on this DVD. The red-headed chick that becomes the vamp was quite a cutie. It definitely felt like a lower-budget answer to "The Vampire Lovers", but my timing may be off.

Big Lots got some blurays in for $6.88 each. Picked up the new Wolfman and Robin Hood. Wolfman looks really good on bluray! This looks like a pretty good deal.

Dark Shadows: The Best of Barnabas. Great DVD. For those looking to discover (or reacquaint) themselves with the old classic series, this is a good start. Found it at Target for only $5.00. Great value.

                            Hee heee.....

By my count, not including the KTLA episodes they're 13.5 box sets away from the entire series.

So close.... now, where are the Remego figures?
