This post really stood out to me:
The original was live action actually. I did the animation shtick as a teaser gag. In the original line up I played all 5 characters and digitally composite them together.

I plan on doing that again this time along with some animation and what ever else I can come up with

Our local station has "Creepy KOFY Movie Time" and at first it was just 2 guys, No-Name and Balrok w/ comedians and a band during the breaks, and some local scary artists who make masks or paintings or stuff like that . But now, it's too hyped up on testosterone. Too many half-naked girls, one band, really off color jokes and too many plugs for local law offices and the like. I don't even wanna watch it anymore. I think a more family friendly approach would be better. Something that older kids could even watch like we did back in the day. Contests, give-aways, some camp and some spookiness. Something that just reminds you of Halloween all year long.

Wow, Sharry... I think you really hit the nail on the head there. Contests, give-aways, all that cool stuff is what makes something like that, really appealing to kids and really work. It's a shame that no one with any real know how about to produce one of these things, has made it happen in a more mainstream media kind of way. I'd support the hell out of something like that if became a reality. I'd bet you could get other creative types, actors, writers, etc to be extremely supportive as well. I know guys like Tim Burton, Wes Craven, Rick Baker, Stephen King and many others, grew up on these horror host type shows... It just seems like they had much more charm and appeal back in the day.

Create a show that makes it feel like Halloween all year long? Bring it on...

Now we're talking! A lot of these things that I do on the side stem completely from my love of Halloween so to be able to get paid to do it all year long would be a dream come true. Since there's really no money in it I'll just do it for the kicks and grins

I'm working on the first 13 episodes right now. I've pulled the 13 films based on name recognition of the titles and the stars of the flicks. Almost all of the humor will be wrapped around those aspects. For example, in the first episode which will feature "White Zombie" with Bela Lugosi, one of the bits will be my Singing Zombie cowboy Max Marx doing a cowboy medley of White Zombie tunes. Get it?

It's going to be fun, well at least for me and hopefully the audience too. I'll keep you folks posted... In the mean time feel free to keep throwing out ideas!

^^^ The host singing White Zombie songs to tie in with the movie is a good one, and sounds very much like something the Son of Svenghoolie would have done.

How about a fan club? Send the kids membership cards, t-shirts, autographed photos, etc. and a monthly newsletter filled with puzzles, games, etc.

A female cast member wouldn't hurt either. Doesn't have to be half-naked or overly sexy, maybe some 50's style cheesecake in her outfit (Vampira comes to mind). Something for the girls to empathize with, and something for the college age guys and older to draw 'em in, and possibly spread some word of mouth (worked wonders for Elvira).
"It's sad that governments are chiefed by the double tongues. There is iron in your words of death for all Comanche to see, and so there is iron in your words of life. No signed paper can hold the iron. It must come from men. The words of Ten Bears carries the same iron of life and death. It is good that warriors such as we meet in the struggle of life... or death. It shall be life."
