I'm rooting for this one. I afraid it won't do too well. I'll watch it, regardless. Of course, I'll see it for free.

DVD for me definitely. The best it can hope for is opening at #3 this weekend, then it'll be quickly downhill from there.

I loved the series first couple of years. If the advanced word on this movie is true, they should release it at Thanksgiving.

The series really ran too long. If you could change time and cut off the last three or four seasons, lose all the "huge conspiracy that never really went anywhere" crap from the background, and re-root the show in its "spooky Mulder" first few years...well then things might be different.
As it is, they ran far too long....beating the proverbial dead horse, whom by now, much like this franchise, is really starting to stink.

The problem is most younger viewers are going to say "what's this garbage?" and stay far away. The rest will be like me and wonder why now after all of the time away.

Too many factors working against this movie making any impact. Its been off the air too long for most people to remember. The ones who do remember, didn't like the last couple of seasons. The fact that Dark Knight, Journey to the Center of the Earth and Hellboy 2 just came out can't help matters. I think it may bomb in the U.S, but do decent overseas. They should have made some hype piece and a new mini series to promote it. Thats the only way to get people into it IMO. I was a fan of the show, so I may see it in the theaters.

i agree, it's got some stiff competition and it's been out of the public mind for quite a while.

X-Files is getting really bad reviews (except for Roger Ebert).

I have a funny feeling that Will Farrell's Step Brothers movie is going to beat it for second place at the box office...the Dark Knight will still easily rule this weekend.

This might be the end of the road for the X-Files.

The movie will appeal to fans of the show ( like me ). We will like it even if we are the only people in the cinema and we don't care where it is in the charts.

                          Everyone else need not apply.

I'm a BIG fan of the show...I love the X-Files...Gillian Anderson is a goddess to me...she's a terrific actress...and damn Hollywood for not making her a big movie star.

Having said that...I know when it's over...and this movie has over written all over it.

I HATED the last two seasons of the X-Files when David Duchovny decided to bail on us fans...and for that...I'll never forgive him.

Besides the first movie was not very good to begin with.

Now all of a sudden he happens to be a faithful actor to the character of Mulder and is involved in the X-Files world once again?.

                            Well, you know what???

                            TOO BLOODY LATE, MISTER!!!

The new movie brings NOTHING to the table, no aliens, no men in black, no monsters, no nothing...it's a BORE fest.

I'll catch it on DVD...that's about it.

NO ONE IS OUT THERE...I WANTED TO BELIEVE...BUT SADLY, IT' ALL OVER.
