Who would YOU cast as the new Superman?

Like many others I liked Routh. Bosworth as Lane killed it for me as she was terrible! Welling? maybe but when I think of Supes I don't think of him as a young man.

They go out of Their way to make Welling look young on Smallville. They put Rouge on His Cheeks. Lose the Rouge, slick His Hair back...and He'll look a lot more like Adult Superman!

In a perfect world, they'd also transition Smallville into Metropolis, and let Welling do his thing in the blue and red suit on a weekly basis, bringing back Millar, Gough and Rosenbaum.

I agree with the others about Bosworth. She was a crappy Lois. Routh was ok.

Not realy fond of the "kid" storyline. Just curious as to where they can take that in the future.

Routh should be allowed to continue if they are going on with that storyline. He did a decent enough job, not his fault the movie was just ok. Welling should get the nod if they are starting anew--but could that really happen for a few years yet?

I wouldn't buy Fraser as Supes. He's too dorky for me.

Fraser was reportedly up for it at one point. He's too old now though to start a new franchise as the perpetually young Superman.

Of all the Hollwood name actors, I do think he was the best name I heard mentioned for it.

I always thought James Caveziel would be a great Superman, especially after seeing him in "Frequency" and "Count of Monte Cristo"

Back when they were trying to have Brett Ratner direct a JJ Abrams script, I was so disgusted with the details that were leaking that I wrote my own Superman script (and cast it in my head, too). When Singer was finally signed to the project, and announced it was "Superman Returns", I tried to get the agent I had at the time to send the script on to them, since it was essentially the same idea I had -- Superman being missing for seven years and coming back. Of course, she had no contacts to get it through . . .

I generally found SR disappointing, with a few spectacular bits. I still think mine would have made a better platform to re-launch . . .

Speaking of casting, who else would you guys get to play everyone else in a new launch?

I'd stick with Routh. I always thought Fraser would be a solid choice. I saw him petitioning for the part several years ago. I think he's too old now, though.

I'd take a Fraser "dorky" type over a "grisled" or "beefy" or otherwise serious type
dude----I'd have wanted to leave the more "serious/hardened" look to the
Batman character...and in turn to the Lois Lane character (ala Margot Kidder).

Routh's cutesy look works just fine for me.

Bald? That's news to me. I would prefer they keep Routh and fix the costume. My first thought when I saw the costume was the evil Superman from Superman III.

Well, the "rug" stuff is always pointless (and it comes up quite a bit funnily
enough)---a multi-million movie budget and you can make any convincing
hairstyle ya want with cash to spare---
