How do you buy beer in your state ?

When I lived in Jersey, you could buy booze, beer, wine and even soda etc at any liquor store.

Here in Pennsylvania liquor store's only sell booze.

If you want beer in PA, you have to go to a beer outlet

I always thought that was weird ......

We have weird alcohol laws in NC. You can buy beer at just about any gas station or convenience store, but you must buy liquor at a state controlled "ABC" store.
Also, bars must make 50% of their profits from food sales, otherwise the bar is a "private" club and you must buy a membership (usually only a buck or two) to have a drink there.

Gawd, it's a vicious cycle isn't it?

As anybody who's visited Canada knows, we have a Beer store and a Liquor store. The Liquor store sells beer but the beer store does not sell liquor. You cannot buy beer at the grocery store, gas station, corner store etc.
except in the province of Quebec where must places sell beer/liquor and it's legal to drink in public as long as you've got food. Which sounds funny if your thinking Big Mac and a beer on the street rather than a bottle of wine at a picnic ya know?
