    Mars Attacks

This is a truly undeserved forgotten movie

Should be at least a cult classic by now

Well had this one on my hardrive for a year or so, certainly wasnt expecting this, as I watched it last night.

Professor Marston and the Wonder Women

True story about the guy who thought up wonder woman, certainly not one for the kids, and something differant and entertaining.

    Cool!

Just saw another good one...“I see You’ with a weird looking Helen Hunt. It’s on Amazon Prime.

Great suspenseful flick with a creepy and eerie musical score, lots of twists and turns.

    Check it out...

I just saw a couple movies that I liked.

Palm Springs (7/10) - A Hulu exclusive movie where Andy Samberg is stuck in one of those "infinite time loop things". I was expecting broad comedy. It was actually a more subtle movie than I expected. And while the movie's concept is clearly similar to "Groundhog Day" they kind of use that to their advantage. A good movie for the covid-19 era, where it feels like we are all stuck reliving the same day.

Sorry to Bother You (9/10) - This movie really defies a quick summary, but I guess it would be... black telemarketer starts climbing the corporate ladder when he starts using his "white voice." The movie had such a unique viewpoint and went in all sorts of crazy, unexpected directions. It is a surprisingly deep movie... yet funny and absurd. Lakieth Stanfield gives an outstanding performance. And again... very topical. You can't help but think of the recent Black Lives Matter protests while watching.

Yeah I watched it a couple of weeks back after TV's Frank raved about it. Really good movie.

"Alcatraz"- A blind buy out of Walmart's $3.74 DVD bin... I was kind of tired when I watched this, so that may play a small part in my rating, but I only give it a 5/10.

Worst movie I've ever seen? Far from it.

But as an Alcatraz/Prison movie? I've seen better.

    Last 2 I saw:

Anomalisa (2015) - I've been meaning to find the right moment to watch this and I'm glad I finally did. I liked it a lot.

Furie (2019) - Vietnamese martial arts revenge movie with great performances and action scenes. It's on Netflix in Canada. Anyone else catch this?

An Evening with Beverly Luff Linn

90% of people will not find this utterly hilarious movie even remotely funny. This is a very specific comedy aimed at a very specific audience. It is NOT a better type of comedy aimed at a superior audience. Its just you will have to have a very specific love of very absurd, incredibly askew, sweet characters. Characters that make Wes Anderson characters look like Hallmark cliches. BUT... if you do, you will love Beverly Luff Linn. Its basically a sweet story about the difference between love and fascination, but it's told in a such a farcical, ludicrous way. - A

    Dune (1984)

Yes, I had never seen this film (still haven't read the book). I know what I'm about to say runs against some of the thought here, but I found it boring. I had to force myself through it. I know it was a lot for Lynch to try and jam into 2 hours and 17 minutes, but it suffered because of it. Lacking the ability to really define the characters but maintaining the grandiose storytelling style (wow, I hated the voiceover) left the movie feeling very hollow. I couldn't really connect with any of the characters and, consequently, was not that invested in the outcome of the story. This story seems better suited for a series. - D

We watched Hamilton this evening on Disney+

My wife's been pretty interested in seeing it. It took me a bit to get into it, but I think we all enjoyed it.
