There was a thread a few weeks back about songs that stick in your head and stay there... For what seems like forever... Invariably they're songs from this thread. So I'll resubmit, for your approval, my choice from that other thread...

      Barry Manilow's Copacabana.

God! The man's a musical genius!
90, Joe 90.... Great Shakes : Milk Chocolate -- Shaken, not Stirred.

I loathe the music of the Steve Miller Band. God I hate it. I don't even hate it on musical merit, it's almost pathalogical. It actually makes me angry. I sometimes wonder if it is tied to some childhood trauma I have blocked out... that is how much I hate it.
Also I hate Aerosmith's "love in an elevator"... it just sucks. Especially for a band I know can do better.

Hey 'droid, have you heard the first two from '68-- "Sailor" or "Children Of The Future"? I'm not really a Steve Miller advocate myself, but those first two are pretty groovy--really decent West Coast meets UK psychedelia. They could change your mind a bit about the SMB.

^I have never heard them. In fairness have never heard anything other than the radio hits ( I have hated those songs since I was a kid). However, I have grown to trust your opinion and "uk psychedelia" is something I am unable to resist when used as a descriptor... I'll give anything a chance once... Research time...

Dammit 'Goat... you are right! I don't know how I can ever tell friends "Hey I heard this song that rules, Dear Mary (or Quicksilver girl) by the steve miller band" and still hold my head up... I reserve the right to hate The Joker, Space Cowboy and Abracadabra until the end of time...

Yeah, "Dear Mary" is absolutely beautiful. The bluesier numbers tend to get a bit tedious, but there are some genuine GOLDEN moments on both Sailor and Children Of The Future.....

Too Sexy for my Shirt is horrid but was very popular.

The WORST of all time that fits into horrid but a hit on the charts...

Vanilla Ice's one-hit wonder song, I can't remember the bloody name, but that ripoff riff he stole from Queen and David Bowie's Under Pressure classic...and the worst is that Vanilla Ice denies he stole it...that it was totally original.

Is Vanilla Ice still breathing here on earth? I hope not.

P.S. Honorable mention to anything from Milli Vanilli.

I LITERALLY would rather die then hear that song.

                        Phil Collins.
                        I HATE his guts.

                        Joel,
I actually don't mind --- but I have to be in the mood.

                        Guns and Roses..
Axl Rose's voice reminds me of an old lady screaming (he must have went to Robert Plant's voice coach)

"She Thinks My Tractor's Sexy" ties for both worst song and worst song title. If I die and end up in Hell, I have a feeling that's the song that'll be playing over Hell's intercom system

Wow! There's that "apples and oranges" thing again. One person's music is another person's noise pollution.

With very few exceptions, I actually love almost everything Phil's ever recorded. Beautiful voice. Beautiful lyrics. Phil's "Take Me Home" and "In the Air Tonight" are probably tied as my all time favorite songs. Billy and Elton are a close second as favorite singers.

Guns N Roses? Ummmm... no. Not for me.
