I was just reading an article that states Iron Man made over 100 mil over the weekend (isn't it still the weekend?), over 104 mil since Thursday, and over 200 mil Wordwide...so far.
Evidently, from what I read elsewhere, theaters were adding extra screens and extra late night showings to handle the demand.

stayed until the end of the credits... seemed like a life time! but i waited, everyone had left apart from me the misses and daughter. wasnt really worth it to be honest but hey its all good
the movie was great though, as was the previews for hulk, indy, batman, and looking forward to ironman 2 nowComment

Just came back from seeing it...nothing short of spectacular. Downey is dead on Tony Stark.......loved the end of the credits scene well worth the wait!Comment

Did anyone catch the use of the 60s Iron Man theme? The one from the Marvel Super Heroes show? When Rhodey is presenting the award to Tony, the music plays (sans lyrics of course). They also play it when it shows Tony in Vegas. I loved little things like that!!!

Just saw it and loved it.
I think that if they thought this would be such a hit, they would have hired a different director, one with more action experience behind him, and that would have probably ruined it. The acting and directing made this film really good. Downey was awesome.
I have no clue how accurate it is to the comics, since I haven't ever read any, but I find that I enjoy Superhero movies more if I wasn't an avid follower of the comic version anyway.Comment

Dave it stays pretty much to what the character of what Tony Stark is....the movies always takes a bit more liberty. They want to entertain everyone not just the comic book fan. Downey was perfect casting.Comment

Great, great movie...I already have it as a solid top five superhero flick as well (and it might go up higher with time).
Robert Downey Jr as Tony Stark was terrific, he made the movie...Iron Man was not bad either, lol.
I still hate Gwyneth Paltrow though, I just can't stand her.
Jeff Bridges was also a solid villain.
Kudos to Jon Favreau, he knows his stuff.
It's no mistake Rotten Tomatoes rated it 94% positive ratings, the highest ever for a comic book-based film.

I loved the beginning...that's how a playboy billionaire should behave, not like brooding Bruce Wayne, lol.
I rate this movie a solid 9 out of 10.
She was so hot in great expectations

I have to agree with the overall sentiment here - it was a spectacular movie! Certainly as good as Spider-Man I, maybe even a little better. My wife, son and I loved it.
Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury does bug me a little, I have to admit, because, like most, I grew up with a Caucasian Nick Fury and have never ready any of the Ultimates stuff. But Jackson is a great actor, so I have no doubt he can pull it off.--
