That includes sour cream and onion, but I don't know if they would have the same distinct taste you remember or they are just Lay's chips in Hostess bags.

I thought that's what I read. So theoretically, Lay's sour cream and onion chips should have the same taste that Ed remembers with the Hostess chips, and if not, it's because Ed's brain is tricking him?

It's his brain, I was in marketing class when this happened and I remember the case study well.

Plus I know like two dozen former hostess people here at work.

What happen was the hostess chips became thinner (like lays) around 1994, they used Matthew Perry as their spokesman on the commercials to announce the new thinner chips. That's why the chips taste different than the 80's ones we loved. The downfall of the munchies happened after this. Yeah Pizza chips were amazing! Those Pringles sticks are kinda close to what it tasted like only the hostess had way more flavour.

man, I just had a flashback to school, where every day you'd get a bag of Hostess chips for lunch, and they came with these tiny little Star Trek TNG trading cards.

Man I really miss having a "Cuban lunch" candy bar.
Probably by far one of my all time favourites.
