Man I really miss having a "Cuban lunch" candy bar.
Probably by far one of my all time favourites.Leave a comment:

[QUOTE=samurainoir;1291995 THE MUNCHIES!!!
[QUOTE]
Awww,so great!! I forgot *all* about the Munchies! Great school-time memories. I used to have a teacher who would send me to the convenience store on lunch breaks to get her a bag of Munchies, then let me keep the change. Fun memories!Leave a comment:

man, I just had a flashback to school, where every day you'd get a bag of Hostess chips for lunch, and they came with these tiny little Star Trek TNG trading cards.

What happen was the hostess chips became thinner (like lays) around 1994, they used Matthew Perry as their spokesman on the commercials to announce the new thinner chips. That's why the chips taste different than the 80's ones we loved. The downfall of the munchies happened after this. Yeah Pizza chips were amazing! Those Pringles sticks are kinda close to what it tasted like only the hostess had way more flavour.

I guess I'm going out to buy a bag of Lay's Sour Cream and Onion Chips. 8)Leave a comment:

It's his brain, I was in marketing class when this happened and I remember the case study well.
Plus I know like two dozen former hostess people here at work.Leave a comment:

I thought that's what I read. So theoretically, Lay's sour cream and onion chips should have the same taste that Ed remembers with the Hostess chips, and if not, it's because Ed's brain is tricking him?Leave a comment:

I wondered what happened to Hostess, they used to be a staple in every corner store and community centre vending machine, now I don't see them anywhere in Loblaws or Walmart.
for whatever reason, Hostess Sour Cream and Onion had a real distinct taste that other brands have failed to capture.
Poutine's really become a popular flavour.
"In order to maintain its trademark protection on the Hostess brand, Frito Lay continues to sell Hostess-branded chips in some lower-end grocery stores, such as Food Basics, FreshCo and Price Chopper, albeit limited to its early 1990s lineup of flavours."
That includes sour cream and onion, but I don't know if they would have the same distinct taste you remember or they are just Lay's chips in Hostess bags.
Hmmm, bacon poutine chips, I need to try those!Leave a comment:

Of course! Or do you mean Hostess in particular? Yes they do, but these days you can only find Hostess brand chips at lower end grocery stores like Food Basics (Hickory Sticks are the only Hostess branded chip snack that can still be found at a wide variety of stores in Canada).
