    Man I really miss having a "Cuban lunch" candy bar.
    Probably by far one of my all time favourites.

    [QUOTE=samurainoir;1291995 THE MUNCHIES!!!

    [QUOTE]
    Awww,so great!! I forgot *all* about the Munchies! Great school-time memories. I used to have a teacher who would send me to the convenience store on lunch breaks to get her a bag of Munchies, then let me keep the change. Fun memories!

    man, I just had a flashback to school, where every day you'd get a bag of Hostess chips for lunch, and they came with these tiny little Star Trek TNG trading cards.

    What happen was the hostess chips became thinner (like lays) around 1994, they used Matthew Perry as their spokesman on the commercials to announce the new thinner chips. That's why the chips taste different than the 80's ones we loved. The downfall of the munchies happened after this. Yeah Pizza chips were amazing! Those Pringles sticks are kinda close to what it tasted like only the hostess had way more flavour.

    It's his brain, I was in marketing class when this happened and I remember the case study well.

    Plus I know like two dozen former hostess people here at work.

    I thought that's what I read. So theoretically, Lay's sour cream and onion chips should have the same taste that Ed remembers with the Hostess chips, and if not, it's because Ed's brain is tricking him?

    Yeah, apparently Frito Lay replaced the Hostess brand with Lays in the 90's. And per wikipedia:

    "In order to maintain its trademark protection on the Hostess brand, Frito Lay continues to sell Hostess-branded chips in some lower-end grocery stores, such as Food Basics, FreshCo and Price Chopper, albeit limited to its early 1990s lineup of flavours."

    Hmmm, bacon poutine chips, I need to try those!
