I went to a WWF match at the old Boston Garden and witnessed The Ultimate Warrior defeat Andre the Giant
in exactly 9 seconds. Andre and Bobby the brain Heenan, we're parading around the ring like peacocks then the
Warrior came racing down the isle jumped into the ring closed lined Andre about 3 times then pinned him and ran
back into the dressing room, I laughed so hard it hurt and that was the main event match.
I agree Andre wouldn't last in a long fight. Usually, his matches were rather quick because he tired easily.
Being from the southeast, I was always more a NWA/WCW fan. I remember when El Gigante (Giant Gonzalez) debuted. Biiiiig guy, but not to good of a wrestler.
Come on, Ali already beat Supes No one touches Bruce Lee in a real street fight. Back to the original post, yeah Andre is slow. tires easily and so one but if he gets hold of you it's all over. Every boxing fan knows every fighter has a puncher's chance. That one swing and a hit and it's all over with. Not likely mind you but still .......
Akebono was a great sumo wrestler, and clearly much bigger and stronger than Gracie, but again, when you are out of your element, it's a different ballgame altogether...going by those mixed martial arts rules, Akebono was a fish out of water.
