True, I never really enjoyed most of his comedy movies, I loved him for his stand-up and his serious movie parts.
When he went into that "hyper mode", he lost me. It worked so well on stage, but much less (for me personally) in the movies.
I feel sad for his family as well. He had been married since 2011.

This so awful. I really feel for people battling this terrible disease. If it was severe why didn't his family see it and try to help him? Such great talent lost.

He had recently checked himself back into rehab, so I'm guessing he knew he was still dealing with it. So sad!

Apparently more is beginning to come to light about what sent him into depression. His finances were not well off after his last divorce in 2008 and this combined with career needs put him in a difficult spot where he was taking jobs he didn't want to collect a paycheck. Apparently the television sitcom was one of those jobs and when it didn't get renewed, that was a devastating blow to him financially and embarrassing from a professional standpoint. Very sad. He was raised in a very affluent home, so this kind of situation might not have been something he had the life experience to handle emotionally. Very sad.

Yea this news has been hard to take.
You know what one of my favorite Robin Williams movies is? "The Survivors" I thought it was funny when I was a kid and you never here about that one mentioned nowdays. "Moscow on the Hudson" to.

Truly sad. Robin Williams is one of the most gifted comedians and actors to ever grace the screen. :(

It was revealed today that Robin was also in the early stages of Parkinson's Disease. That alone can be a rough thing to deal with.

No. You're not alone. I liked it too. As a matter of fact, the last scene in the movie when Jack is graduating from high school reminds me of my grandfather who passed away many years before that movie was made. I'm surprised to find out Robin didn't come from Polish descent because there is a striking resemblance. I also really like Patch Adams and maybe I am more alone in liking that film than we are liking Jack. Strangely enough, although my grandpa's real name was Isadore, everyone referred to him as Jack! Life is often stranger than fiction.
