Robin Williams constant struggle with addiction:

Robin Williams, the manic comic who morphed from TV's Mork from Ork to Oscar-winning glory, is dead of an apparent suicide. He was 63.

RIP! Two of my favorite, more obscure films by him were Death to Smoochy and the Birdcage! May have to rewatch them now.

          Death to Smoochy was awesome!

Let's not forget his Oscar winning performance in Good Will Hunting...and was also excellent in Dead Poet's Society.

I feel terrible for his family he left behind. Very sad for them more so than his fans.

I'm shocked by this. His publicist said he was having a tough time with depression. So sad for his family.

Loved Mork as a kid, and enjoyed him in everything he did. My kids still wear out Hook.

An underrated film of his is World's Greatest Dad. I think my favorite will always be The World According to Garp. Love that movie.

He was definitely my comic idol. I'd always assumed he was bipolar because of the "stream of consciousness" riffs he could rattle off and what appeared to be self-induced hypomania. His timing was uncanny. I guess he thought is was time to go.

He had signed to be in Ms. Doubtfire 2, wow...man, was really looking forward to that one.

He has about three completed movies coming up, including Night at the Museum 3.

                        What a crying shame.

Forgot about Jumanji as well! It was my daughter's favorite growing up.

It is amazing how much joy and happiness a total stranger brought to my life.

One of my favorite performers ...

Wow. What a shame and a loss. So sad, especially since this didn't have to happen. He should have had many more good years. I wish that someone would have been able to "sit" on him and the him through this.

                              RIP Robin. You'll be missed.
