Suarez had already been suspended twice and gotten heavy suspensions and penalties for biting before...yet he bit again in the World's biggest soccer stage...he's a complete IDIOT...he should've known better...he DESERVES to be OUT of the tournament...irrelevant if that hurts Uruguay's chances...irrelevant about other players acting like idiots...this was Suarez' IMBECILIC act...he was under a magnifying glass...yet he does that again...also...his racist treatment of Patrice Evra was INEXCUSABLE...that's just plain IGNORANCE and LACK OF EDUCATION...don't care if that's how he was raised...it's still WRONG, no ifs or buts about it.

As I said before, I appreciate his skills and talent...fantastic striker...but no one is to blame but himself...he did this to himself.

This is going to rattle Uruguay as a team...and I'm picking Colombia to win...yes...Falcao is missing...but this young kid, James Rodriguez...is coming into his own at the right time...still a puppy, 22 years old...but what great talent, so cool and collect...love that youngster.

They call it "going against the sport" alright, but I've always wondered what is the reason for FIFA to never do the same with ANY players who fake faults and get penalties doing that? Hipocrites! The day they start addressing that nasty custom the players will learn that they can't do that anymore. They get penalty calls, score, their countries win worldcups, and there is none addressing the problem! Instead, they ban Suárez and ruin the spectacle. Shucks! I like Perkeman's style a lot, and Colombia plays some really nice soccer, but still I believe Uruguay will beat them on Saturday. Colombia will miss Falçao much more than Uruguay Suárez.
Surely you can't equate faking injury or flopping to earn a penalty to physically attacking someone? Faking injury is gamesmanship and an "acceptable" part of the game at all levels. Happens in MLS every game.

Biting or physically attacking someone is just plain stupid and has no part in the game. Considering his track record, I wouldn't have been surprised if FIFA went further.

Well, after reading your comments on Suárez, I wonder what are your opinions on the Brazilian player who faked a fault and got a penalty call for Brazil just when they were being surpassed by Croatia and not being able to "open" the game when they were 0-1 in the opening game of the worldcup (I think it was Fred, but I can be wrong on that). That guy... doesn't deserve to be banned from the tournament, too?

I feel tempted to make a bet on the Saturday match with you, Héctor.

Faking is not the same as biting...you could get a disease from that stuff...come on now, lol.

Heck, they fake injuries all of the time in the NBA. Guys flopping all over the court, guys pretending someone smacked them in the face when they don't even touch them. Why should soccer be any different?

Fist of all, I wasn't saying Suárez was right. I was actually pointing out that what is wrong is wrong. This is not about a little bitty wrongs, and superlative wrongdoings. If the FIFA is banning Suárez for that childish act, why on earth they are blind to whatever a number of other players are still doing in this worldcup?

Hitting an opponent with an elbow, biting him, or faking a fault leading another team to lose a match (and a player for that game and another one!) are all WRONGS. If FIFA want some pristine all-clean sport, okay, that's fantastic, but banning one player while keeping others in the tournament isn't the best thing they can do for the sport.

It's not a childish act though. It's brutal. And his country should have taken action like Ghana did today with their two players, one for physically confronting a team official.

You just can't compare faking an injury to gain a free kick advantage to actually putting your teeth on someone.

If FIFA cracked down on every player for faking fouls, there'd be no tournament.

As a Uruguay fan, Suarez's banishment saddens me, as Uruguay is dead in the water without him.

That doesn't mean I agree with his actions. He knows better. He's been reprimanded in the past. If he was upset, he should have head butted the guy. THAT can be explained away as an accident. He could have rammed his spikes into his shins "on accident" during a play. There are many way to hurt someone on the pitch. Biting is unnecessary, impossible to explain as an accident, and leaves proof.

That dumb butt deserves to sit out the rest of the tourney, and get the "welcome" awaiting him in Montevideo as he costs his nation a trophy.

Yesterday Juninho Pernambucano, former midfielder for Brazil, pointed out that a elbow hit was far worse than a bite. I do agree.

Anyway, in Chile we do know Luis Suárez isn't an easy guy to deal with. When playing the qualies for the worldcup we played against Uruguay in Montevideo first. We had the other manager (Borghi, a total disaster) and Suárez scored FOUR times! We lost 4-0. Then at Santiago we beat them 2-0 (now with Sampaoli as manager). It was an amazing match. Suárez tried to irritate Jara, and even hit the guy expecting some reaction -Jara is known to usually get red cards. Fortunately our defender stayed cool and concentrated in the task, and we defeated them clearly playing better soccer.

Here's a video so you can see what it was like for us to deal with the great Suárez here in Santiago last year:

It's very sad what happened with Luis Suárez. I just don't see FIFA doing any good to the sport when banning him.

Since 26 year old Vasquez has two yellow cards...34 year slow *** old man Salcido will play in his place against the Dutch.

Mexico already has a mid-30s slow *** starter in Marquez, now they are gonna have two for that game

And against arguably the fastest team in the tournament???

Very tough matchup for Mexico, especially now.

First bad move from coach Herrera...

                            ...me lleva la chingada...lol.

                              My predictions:

Brazil 3 - Chile 2...but I want Chile to win sooooooo bad!!! Screw Neymar and Hulk...lol.

                              Colombia 3 - Uruguay 1...without Suarez...Uruguay is a sitting duck.

Netherlands 2 - Mexico 1...it's so haaaaaard for me to have picked the Dutch, but their strikers are gonna be too fast for Mexico's slow defense (they will play tough, but just end up short)...but hey, if the beaners win...I'll gladly eat crow...I'll probably have a heart attack of being so elated, lol.

Costa Rica 2 - Greece 0...the Greeks have a lot of trouble scoring...the Ticos on the other hand, can score in bunches.

France 2 - Nigeria 1...Nigeria has some good Africans...but France has better Africans, lol.

                              Germany 3 - Algeria 0...Blitzkrieg time!

Argentina 2 - Switzerland 0...Messi will NEUTRALIZE the Swiss. Neutralize, Switzerland. Get it? lol

USA 1 - Belgium 1...at end of regulation...(yanks win in overtime, 2-1)...Gotta go with Team USA...GO USA!!!!
