In 1983 I walked out of Cronenberg's Dead Zone because I had just read the novel by Stephen King, and dammit, they left out the wheel of fortune subplot! It was my favorite part of the book! I even got my dollar back from the Briargrove Dollar Theater where I spent 115% of my early adolescence.

I've since seen the movie about a billion and twelve times, and it's excellent. (The TV series was good, too, for the first two or three seasons, but c'mon guys, how long can you milk a dead chimp????)

Don't think I ever walked out. My parents went to see Pulp Fiction and walked out on that. I really don't know why they went to it. My mother in law and a few of her fellow condo dwellers went to Independence Day expecting a nice movie about something patriotic.

I've yet to walk out on a movie, but there have been a few I've been tempted to. Burton's POTA and The Fifth Element come to mind. Rather than walk out, I wanted to reach through the screen and strangle Chris Tucker's character.

That brings back some bad memories. I had a friend in college who absolutely loved that movie. Needless to say, after the first viewing I'd always have somewhere important to go when he started heading toward the VCR...

I only walked out on 2 movies in my life.

                  A Room with a View -- booooring

Johnny Dangerously -- just didn't think it was fargin funny at all.
I have said this a few times already but I live 5 miles outside of Burkittsville, Maryland where the Blair Witch project supposedly took place. What seemed to grip a lot of people and why it made so much money was the whispering that this really happened. They even had a promotional show before the movie launched interviewing police, residents, etc. and at no time said the story was fabricated. I knew it was fake from the getgo because I have heard all of the local legends and there are some in Burkittsville but no Blair Witch. In fact, the only two scenes I think they even shot in Burkittsville was the town sign and a scene in an old cemetary right in town. What most people didn't hear is the chaos this movie caused for this small town. People were coming in from all over, stealing town signs, robbing gravestones from the cemetary and just creating problems for a small sleepy little town that wasn't prepared to deal with the problem.

Back to topic. I have never walked out on any movies....I have seen some bad ones but if I'm paying movie theater prices, I'm going to stick with it and at least give it a chance.

I do remember being on a date back in college and we had rented a couple of movies to watch. I ended up turning off "A Clockwork Orange" about 20 minutes into the movie and have never seen it all the way through. I really didn't know much about the movie other than hearing it was brilliant but not exactly a movie to watch with someone you have only dated a couple of times....I think we stopped it at the point where the villain was beating the guy to death with a cane or something like that while singing "Me and My Shadow"....at least that's my memory. I would like to rent it and watch it all the way through and see if I would think differently of it today.

I think "A Clockwork Orange" is probably so dated now that most people wouldn't be able to sit through it IMHO. I'm not saying it's a bad or good movie. I'm surprised it hasn't gone the route of being remade and updated for today's audience yet.

The Smith movie wasn't horrible but we were at a drive in with the kids who weren't sleeping and it just wasn't worth cranky children.

I almost walked out of Fear and Lothing in Las Vegas and now it's one of my favourite movies. I'd also like to show some love for the Blair Witch, I enjoyed it.

I only recall walking out of one movie.....The Fly II.

I went and saw it with a biker friend of mine, who happens to be a true animal enthusiast (as am I), and we wanted to see something "scary". Well the movie wasn't scary, and we hated the whole bit about them experimenting on the dog. When we got to the part where they show the deformed dog being kept alive and in pain, we walked right out of there. My buddy got our money back, thankfully. I have little tolerance for films that show murder or torture of animals or children. That's not "entertainment".

I've been to a few "chick flicks" over the years with various girls, that I wished I could've walked out on!

I thought the concept behind "Blair Witch.." was a good one, it was hyped up so much though that by the time I saw it I was a bit underwhelmed. But I still thought it was decent, at least for one viewing.

i've only walked out on 2 movies my whole life:

Beverly Hills Cop III--although you could say its my own fault for going. i mean, what did i expect?

Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow--i wanted to like this movie sooo bad, since it seemed to have that retro tone i love so much. but about a 1/2 hr in, i was so bored and so angry that the movie (IMO) was such a failure that i said "i have better things to do with my time" and walked out.

                                rob!
