You guys have anamed a lot of my favorites, but my very favorite is from Ride the High Country. Joel McCrea plays the aging gunfighter, and after he kills the bad guys, he is on his knees, wounded, and just slowly tips over until he's laying on the ground as the end credits roll.

Two deaths in the movie The Vikings. One as Ernest Borgnine accepts the sword from Toney Curtis and leaps into the wild dog pit. And the finale as Kirk Douglas Hestitates slaying his brother then gets killed by him. OOODDDDDDIIINNNNNNNNN.Lo there do I see my Father.

I just picked up "No Country For Old Men" on DVD....so maybe I might have to come back Monday with another favorite death scene. Whoever has seen it already, don't spoil it. I don't know much about it other than the basic story line."The farther we go, the more the ultimate explanation recedes from us, and all we have left is faith."

Deep Blue Sea
Samual L. Jackson gives a some sort of stirring speach about how they will get out of this (being in an isolated underwater post where aggreesive mentally enhanced sharks are trying to get to them) situation. But he's in front of a tank and when he's done, all the sudden, a shark comes up and takes him.Comment

He may be done the "stirring" part---but he's still in the middle
of his speech "First thing we gotta do..."---when his death comes outta
no where midsentence---pretty rad"No. No no no no no no. You done got me talkin' politics. I didn't wanna'. Like I said y'all, I'm just happy to be alive. I think I'll scoot over here right by this winda', let this beautiful carriage rock me to sleep, and dream about how lucky I am." - Chris MannixComment

I heard Recently that he was not Suppost to die in that Movie. His character was gonna make to the end, but he had conflicts with another movie he was in,.. & had to depart that one. So they re-wrote the Script, & had LL Cool J's character live instead.... The Original Knight ..., Often Imitated, However Never Duplicated. The 1st Knight in Customs.

I like the death scene of the guy with his head in a vise in "Casino" and the bat scene at the end of "Casino".
The twist at the end of "The Departed" was great, no one saw it coming.
