    Favourite death scene in movies.

    1 only i'm afraid......
    my choice is
Roy Batty in Bladerunner....not grisly or even heartbreaking...just very, very, very well done and totally in character.

I always liked the Death Scene in The Godfather 2 (I think) When Marlon Brando as the Maria Don stuffs an orange peel in his mouth and plays in a garden with his young grandson. Then he collapses from a stroke and dies, and his grandson doesn't understand.
    Completly improvised apparently.

Farmer Vincent in "Motel Hell" and his dying words "I used preservatives!"

either that or the death of "Bambi's" mother. It's a hard call.

Agreed, Roy Batty was one of Rutger Hauer's best roles (followed closely by his role in Ladyhawke). Roy's struggle against the inevitable, "to rage against the dying of the light" as Dylan Thomas said, is a powerful scene.

When Rob Roy (Liam Neeson) almost splits Archibald Cunningham (Tim Roth) in half in the climatic swordfight scene in the film Rob Roy (after being schooled by the superior Archibald for most of the duel). Great desperation comeback win for Rob Roy...and great instant bloody death for Archibald.

          Great scene...

Wasn't there a spoof on that part in a newer movie? The name of the movie escapes me right now although the spoof was funny. The little newphew was acting like Chucky from the horror film running around the garden laughing like Chucky.

One of my favorite death scenes had to be from Star Wars when Obi Wan bit the dust. I liked Luke and Darth in duel of fates better.

I discovered TPA recently and thought it was great---great choice Mike---

as was ROY BATTY---which----BTW--- I will say was a heartwrenching
                          scene, to me, anyway---

Also, I happen to like VADER/ANAKIN'S death a lot too

                          And how about this death....

Dicaprio's Death in The Departed,.. was just so unexpected to me,.. it kinda left me a bit stunned,.. I had no Idea that was comming.. it was great.

I liked Carl Wheathers Death In the Predator,.. man that was a great Death Scene.

& Who could forget James Earl Jone's be-heading in Conan !

3000 Miles to Graceland,.. Costner went out over the top,.. it was great.

                            & Some recent movies..

Paul Giamatti in Shoot EM Up,.. that scene, as well as the whole movie, was so comicbooky,.. his death was fantastic, with the heated Bullets in Owen's hand, flying at him. lol... It was cool.

& Stathams Death in Crank, was great. Just an end , to the already Crap day he had, falling from the Helicoptor.
