I am unsure that it was a convention piece in my case. (no pun intended) I did not get my from a convention. I am not sure if that made a difference or not. As I pulled all of mine straight from the cases. I do know that I also sold them for a good amount of money at the time as they were real hot pieces and it seemed as if everyone was wanting them at that time. I believe I even sold one for a hundred dollar bill without any effort on my part. It makes me feel good to look at the prices now and look back at what I sold some of them for like Drew Bledsoe Rookie and etc. When I look at it that way I really did not lose any money on them in fact I actually made money while building my collection of extras at the same time. It sounds as if you did alright on yours as well. I don't know about you, but I sure do like opportunities like that. Would like to see more opportunities like those come this way.

I did not even know those "things" were still in collector's vocabulary. I knew those "things" were duds right from the get go and I stayed far clear from those. Too many was being massed produced for one thing. I have seen people with basement loads of those "things". I see them at sales often going for .25 to .50 each and people begging/hoping that you will take/buy the whole bag/box so they can get rid of them. It is amazing how the times change. Hot one moment and stone cold the next. I know some people especially those that were big into them and spent a lot of money at the time will argue that there were some good high $$ pieces then. My question to that is yeah, but what are they worth now? Kind of like the SLU's and Spawn stuff that also took a dive.
