I don't know, the older Fantastic Four cartoon with Doc Doom. Doom's voice cracks me the hell up. Ugh!

The 80's Hulk cartoon really got me cause when Hulk would become Banner his clothes came right back with the transformation. I guess it's a way to cut a corner, but a very naff thing to do. IMO

Agreed. I love watching the Adam West episodes. And Jay Leno as a chin themed superhero? What's not to love about that?

Filmation's Hero High was a total suckfest of a superhero cartoon. I can't defend the X-Men cartoons of the 90's. It seems whenever Marvel launches a new cartoon they are just hawking new toys. I've never heard of a core group of animators with a vision for a Marvel animates series like DC's.

Man, I loved that Tarzan cartoon that MegoRonin was talking about. That was a fave of mine when I was little and a big reason I wanted the Mego Tarzan figure (but never got!)

The Kids Super Power Hour with Shazam was pretty bad, though I enjoyed it at the time alot. I always was a Shazam fan though, and to be honest I think I had the hots for the actresses who played the superheroines on the live portion of the show

The superhero cartoon I always thought was awful was Captain Planet. I was a bit older by the time that came out but still, I was still watching cartoons alot (and still am) and I thought it was pretty unwatchable.

The Good: Tarzan, Thundarr, Lone Ranger and Zorro, Warner Bros., Spidey and Amazing Friends, Pirates of Dark Water, Scooby-Doo (in small doses), and -- yes, God forgive me -- the Smurfs!

The Bad: The Thing with Fred and Barney (WTH???), any rip-off of the Smurfs: Gummi Bears, Care Bears, the Snorks, etc.

The Dumb: Cpt. Caveman, Laff-o-Lympics, Flinststones, pretty much all Hannah-Barbera except early Tom & Jerry (and Scoob in small doses)

From memory, I'd have to say the 77 onwards FF cartoons have all sucked. The latest Teen Titans one is awful too. I've never seen the Thing cartoon which I'm glad to after seeing that clip...oh boy!

I must admit to enjoying the 90s Spiderman and X-Men shows, the animation wasn't that great but I liked the soap opera story telling.

Y'know; with stuff like the 90's X-Men and Rubik in the running it's tough to pick a WORST.... but I gotta go with "Turbo Teen." I'd mentioned this show a while back on another site and one of the guys who worked on it explained how he got OUT of working on it. He asked questions:

-So, if he's a car and someone steals his tires is he missing his hands and feet when he changes back? If there are people in the car when he changes back do they get crushed? If someone puts their luggage in the trunk, when he changes back is it stuck in....

"You don't have to work on the show any more."

He had some good stories about "Goldie Gold and Action Jack" too.

I agree i wasn't saying it was good I just was saying blame marvels writing team for the show not the show producers.

The xmen evolution show you can blame the producers for

I won't hold marvel to the 90's Dc standard where they gave Bruce Timm full control for animation so much like the 60-s & 70's Filmation dc stuff it all fits together. Today's DC animation is more like marvel several artistic vison styles working shows with shared characters so nothing is cohesive.

Well, ahem, Caesar, I didn't say the Flintstones were bad, just dumb. There is a difference! Like most other H-B toons from the late 60s on (Funky Phantom, anyone? Snagglepuss or Grape Ape, anyone?), the F-stones are dumber than dirt -- but entertaining like... a child playing in dirt!

                                Super Hero cartoons, remember guys?

I remember seeing ads in comics for "Fred and Barney Meet The Thing" but I never saw an episode until Boomerang ran one as a filler one day. The horror...

Most of the first season Super Friends are pretty unwatchable. Marvin makes Snapper Carr look like Nightwing by comparison. I remember seeing the Wonder Twins first, so I don't have the nostalgia for these that some here do.

Overall I felt the 90s X-Men toon was horribly paced and poorly designed. The heavy use of black shadows and over-muscled characters prove Bruce Timm is right. Traditional comic art does not translate well into animation. There were good moments, but het melodrama and pacing ruined most. Spider-Man to a lesser extent, although the actor playing Spidey sure laid the drama on think, like molases.

I prefer the 80s solo Spidey toons. That's my personal fave Spidey animated version.

The newer Fantastic Four cartoon is horrible. Barely watchable. The designs are irritating anime-wannabes and the writing is just dreck. Seems like a foreign toon dubbed in English...badly. I watched the first episode and vowed never again.
