There's one still here in Montgomery. And the website says there is one in Mobile, Tuscaloosa and Huntsville in Parkway Place Mall. I haven't been to ours in a 100 years.Leave a comment:

Yeah I think they're gone. There use to be one in Decatur and another in Huntsville.Leave a comment:

I knew it was a franchise, but thought it was more of a regional chain, I guess it was spread from coast to coast...and even beyond...
Like I previously said, we went there as a family primarily for the fried chicken, we liked it better than Kentucky Fried Chicken.Leave a comment:

not sure if anyone mentioned it and it may still be around but not around here anymore. What about The Picadilly? Never liked the place but haven't seen one in a long time. They were always in Malls I think.Leave a comment:

Reports of Sammy's demise (and origin) may not be entirely factual: http://sambosrestaurant.com/610/index.htmLeave a comment:

I know there are a few Ponderosa restaurants left, but I miss their heyday. I worked there after school in 87-88, and cheese sticks and the salad bar were my my major food groups. My employee discount was half-off meals and all the free fountain sodas I could guzzle.Leave a comment:
