Burger King French fries

Burger King in the UK have taken a few burgers off the menu temporarily because their suppliers (in Ireland and France, IIRC) may have been using horse meat.

(The French might be fine with eating horse, but I sure don't want to try it.)


As a kid, I always thought the Big Mac was huge. Now days... it seems smaller. I guess it's just because I'm bigger!

I don't eat much fast food, but when I do, it is never Burger King. I just didn't like their burgers or their fries. I will admit that I haven't eaten their food in probably fifteen years, so it could be different now.

Burger King meat has an aftertaste that reminds me of the junior high school cafeteria burgers I used to eat back in the late 70s because they were free, lol.

I don't love Mc fries because they are cut too small which makes them get cold very fast --- and eating cold Mc fries is worse than any other torture

For burgers, I like BK's new Philly Cheesesteak chicken sandwich

My local BK was running a buy 1 get 1 free special on them

I like BK on principal, but all of them around this area seem unclean. It just makes me never want to eat there.

I forgot about Chick-Fill-A's waffle fries. Had some of those the other night. Those are fantastic.

McDonalds finally opened in my town in about 1985 and there was quite a queue to try one of these legendary "Big Mac" burgers. As a Whopper Double Beef kinda guy (Cardiovascular system? Ha! Trial by flame grill.) you can imagine my sadness when I discovered how tiny a "Big Mac" is. And a "Quarter Pounder"? We use metric here and I imagined a quarter pound as something to be reckoned with. Nope. Very disappointing all 'round. Their newer menus are at least a little more interesting, but McDonalds is even down low on my kids' list of favourites.

Very true. Big Macs are anything but. The size of the meat patty has definately shrunk since I was a kid. I can make a homemade burger with one patty that is bigger than a Big Mac. But I confess I still eat them on occasion. Quarter Pounders aren't much better. For burgers I like Wendys Son of Baconator and the burgers at 5 Guys, Red Robin and In n' Out.

If I get a big mac I get them to hold the middle bun and its a lot better. BK had a knockoff that was way better years ago. So did Checkers.

Try a burger & fries at Five GUys & you will never be able to eat at McD or BK again.

I always choose Wendy's in a pinch.

THIS. Five Guys ruined fast food for me anywhere else. The fries are the best I ever had, bar none, and you get a TON of 'em.

I forgot to mention KFC's skin on potato wedges, they are so good that I don't dip them on anything, they are stand alone delicious.

On a vaguely related note, my sister is picking up KFC for a family dinner tonight. It has literally been DECADES since I have had that. I wonder what my verdict will be?
