While waiting for Jinx to be cremated, I went to a local Estate Sale to pass the time. Big house, but nothing but junk. However there was a plastic bag under a table and for some reason I went digging through it. All puppet and doll parts. Inside it though was something I've been wanting for a LONG TIME. A 1964 Morticia handpuppet from Ideal.

It was strange because A: these are pretty damn rare and B: I was originally going to name Jinx, Morticia.

Went to the auction in NJ yesterday.

There was a big flat cardboard shipping carton. All I saw was "Super Marios Bros." and "Walt Disney" on it. I won it for $5.00 and when I opened it, it had this. It's a two part ceiling hanger from the theaters, unused.

I won a big plastic bin of GI JOE stuff for $60. I thought I had overpaid, but inside was this small container I didn't even see during the preview. It had some great stuff like unbroken Storm Shadow bow, Lift Ticket microphone, Firefly microphone and unbroken Wolverine and Mauler tow cables and tons and tons of other great parts.

NES stuff. $60 for the box

    Some GI JOES

This was a dumb lot I bought for only $5.00 with tons of signed photos from porn stars and a real candid Ron Jeremy picture, haha.

Got a bunch more stuff too.

^^ love the cab! Been after a non-restored pair with character for ages. Used to be one of the most unwanted pieces of vintage furniture and now they are forever pricey (at least out here on the west coast.) Curious what they are going for in NY?

    …oh and the Verotik vinyl.

    vv score!

Toys have been scarce. But I did find an old Barrister Cabinet. Been wanting one for a long time.

heheee I've just finished setting up the eclectic shelf, and will have the Full Moon, Yashushi Nirasawa, and Universal Monster cabinets done and will photo soon....and the rest are in boxes ..mostly. and on top of my computer cabinet. and on my TV center. and drawing desk. and DVD shelf.
I have a huge shelf system planned, but it's hard to paint in freezing weather.

Sounds good to me! We'll keep it as is.
Besides, makes it all that more exciting when spring/summer rolls around.

I still have nothing for this new thread because I can't peel myself away from the personal heater to go hunting.

I fail as a collectible survivalist.

This way, it shows what can be found when you get away from the keyboard and out in the neighborhood. I think this thread is awesome just the way it is. I'll definately be posting more of my flea market scores here.
I wholeheartedly agree. I'm more curious about what people find "in the wild" and their experience in finding them. Ebay "finds" just aren't that exciting. There's also several other threads for "acquisitions" that don't fall under the "urban safari" umbrella.

    I found these 1960's dime store vampire teeth.-Paid $10
    sunday 014.jpg
Early American Bisque Cookie Jar-Paid $25 (easily worth at least 5 times that)
    sunday 018.jpg
1963 Marx Nutty Mads "End Zone" in bright pink -$10

Found this Lefton "Miss Priss" Knock-off cookie jar (the blue-ish cat on second shelf) for $17 and the blue "Miss Cutie Pie" set up above it for $50. The spice set portion alone is worth a couple hundred as it's a rarity only distributed in Canada. I'm sure everybody's thrilled to know that.

Found this crazy spiky monster in a bag of mixed toys at a thrift for a few bucks. anybody have any info on him? (approx 4" tall)

Got this sweet bundle at a community city flea market. The Indian is an original 1973 Tonto figure. He was naked and broken when I brought him home. But as you can see from the picture he's OK and wearing some duds again. The Sir Galahad is from classic tv toys. He was only $5!!
