I grew up in northeastern Ohio... your list, my goodness... the memories! Back in the day there was super hot toy action on Belmont Ave. with Kmart, Hills and Woolco all battling for my attention and my parents' money.

This is first time I've heard anyone utter "Hills" in ages... they had such a killer Star Wars section and I bought KISS Alive 2 DBLP there. Thanks for stirring my mind vault.

        Kiddie City
        5 and 10 stores
Someome mentioned the Fun malls and I immediately thought of the Bazaar of all Nations or as we all called it the bazoo or the BIZARE (with emphasis) of all nations. if had a small comic and toy dealer, record stores, little food stalls and place that made 5 and 10's look posh

I always remember TSS here On long island. It was filled with so much stuff and went out of business before I turned 6 (and was replaced with a really poor Kmart). I used to go there for toys, but my mom loved it too because there were tons of departments. They even had a pet section with lizards......

We still have an Arthur Treacher's nearby--yummy!

            I miss Burger Chef--the burger bar & play-trays.

In retail, I really miss Big Wheel. We also had a regional Oh. chain, Conleys, which was great. And Gold Circle, Mr. Wigg's , Hecks, Nichols, & Ames.

I vividly recall both Buehler's Markets & Conleys having the first assortments of WGSH on type-2 cards.

              And I'm still reeling over KayBee's demise--such great close-outs & exclusives.

A lot has been mentioned already: Red Barn had the best onion rings. Burger Chef was one of my favorites along with JR Hot Shoppes with Pappy Parker's fried chicken.
There were a lot of private department stores in my area in the 70s that are all gone now.
In Maryland there are a few Roy Rogers that are still around and they are building a new one kind of close to where we live
                It's all good!

There was a Hostess store not too far away from were I lived. I would go there for their Chocolate Chip Mini Muffins and my Dad for the Ho Ho's. It closed way before Hostess was shut down.

And, as others have mentioned, KayBee's. There would be so many cool toys there. My favorite was the 8" - 10" Godzilla figures. One of the toy collections I still have.

The big one is Ben Franklin's. I still occasionally dream about going back into the downstairs toy dept. to this day.

                    I also miss Heck's
                    Hill's
                    Howard's

I was going to say something adult like my wife's legs, but I'll have to say Burger Chef. I fondly remember the food and those flimsy records with all of those stupid Burger Chef and Jeff adventures. Then Hardees comes and and buys them out and then...they went away. Best freakin roast beef I ever had.
I almost had a psychic girlfriend but she dumped me before we met.

If anyone here believes in psychokinesis, please raise my hand.

Nope. Never got one of those...but my birthday is January 30th, so it was usually really bad weather so we didn't go into town as much.
