I've been thinking about video game stores that are gone too. Places Like Electronic Boutique,Funco Land and Rhino's which use to be owned by Blockbuster. The last two were great places to buy games for older systems.

You better watch out Red Hulk; as of last night "Merlin" (from Ohio) is now on the scene as well. I think the only way to go is for you to invite Levi and Merlin to the local Red Barn and sort this power struggle out.

Clearly a sign of the apocalypse. Prepare Thyself!

I remember Playworld in Rockville Centre NY. A few years before I was born in 1979, the one in my town I grew up in (Elmont) caught on fire.

I remember TSS in Elmont too. I remember it like it was yesterday.

Wow! A lot of memories here; especially from you guys in the Tri-State area. I miss many of the places mentioned here.

The Play World in Patchogue, LI NY was my stomping grounds. I loved everything about that place right down to the smell (dusty boxes and new plastic). Many a Star Wars figure, Micronaut and other toys were from this place.

While Modell's is still a fixture in the Northeast as a sporting goods store when I was a kid it was akin to Caldor, Woolworth or Walmart today. If the toys weren't from Play World they were likely from Modell's
If I had only spent a tenth of the time studying Physics that I spent learning Star Wars and Baseball trivia, I would have won the Nobel Prize.
