I know that other countries are not as good at "American Football" or "Baseball" (World Series?) as you guys ...but "World Champions"...have I missed something here...did other countries actually take part in the competition..as I said I am bemused here as I thought the Superbowl was the culmination of the various leagues over in the States not a world cup? Please explain.... thx
After that congrats to the Giants and comisserations to the Pats...
For the most part,we don't refer to whomever wins the Super Bowl as "world champs". Most refer to them as Super Bowl champs. Same with the NBA and NHL. Only time a team is called world champs is when they win The World Series.

You didn't get the one that counted, Bro. On ESPN Last night they summed up the Patriots season in one word. "FAILURE" .... I dunno, I thought it was fantastic.

... Let me refresh your memory.

Where was the Whistle??? Or the Giants push off inside the Face Mask of a Pat...to make the catch...no call from the Reff's??

And finally...Manning got just plain lucky with that last "hail Mary" through at the end.
Yeah but you gotta admit that catch was 1 in a million, and we all tend to forget that Eli escaping that was just as hard an incredible

Congrats to the Giants. Since I am a die hard Redskins fan, it really didn't matter to me who won although I was routing for the Giants because I really didn't want to see the Dolphins undefeated season get matched (even if if was the Redskins who lost Super Bowl VII).

I honestly thought the game could have gone either way and were dead evenly matched. It seemed to me that one of the Patriots big problems is they didn't do anything to catch anyone by surprise. It was the same old screen passing, hitting Moss on one on ones, etc. that we have seen all season. It worked with limited success but the Giants were well prepared for it.

And I give props to the fact that history was made last night. First time brothers have become Super Bowl MVP's and even more importantly in back-to-back seasons which to me is of more historical importance than the Patriots fantastic run.

My wife purchased a really nice DVD set for me at Christmas which has highlights of every single football season from SB1 all the way to SBXL.

I wanted to watch the historic Dolphins season and it was a great dvd. I was surprised to hear even with the undefeated season, that the Dolphins were 3 point underdogs in SB7 so despite the undefeated season, most of the odds were that the pressure would get to them and they would not be able to beat the Redskins.

The Giants D-Line was amazing Tom was on his but more this game than the hole season. You can't throw the ball on your but. Even when they whern't scoring the Giants looked better than the pats. With allthe years as a Red Sox fan I'm used to saying this "Wait till next year."

After Brady threw that last desperation pass to Moss and the game ended, the first thing that went through my mind was this..."Thank God that didn't happen to my Dallas Cowboys." After feeling so bad watching Dallas lose to the Giants, suddenly I felt fortunate. To go 18-0 and LOSE the Superbowl is a nightmare one can never escape. No matter what they do from here on out, including winning another Superbowl, they will always be remembered as a team that didn't finish off the perfect season...and that sucks. Make no doubt, the Giants deserved it and earned it every step of the way. I just feel sorry for the Patriots because to be on the cusp on something that tremendous and to now be viewed as something considerably less, is just tragic in it's most basic form. I played the game and I still hurt from close games my team lost. I can't fathom the pain this must bring the Patriots. It's nightmarish...
