The Dolphins undefeated season was the same year that Franco Harris had the "Immaculate Reception". The Steelers and Browns were both formidable teams and the Redskins were no slouch of a team in the Super Bowl and were even favored to win despite the Dolphins undefeated season.

Superbowl wins mean everything records mean nothing...
The best of all time had to be the Blond Bomber 4 Superbowl wins ,,,eat me Brady! Bradshaw remains alone at the top of Superbowl wins everything eles is just a cheeseburger. Got to give it up to Miami they over came adversity not to mention they played the game back in the day when the game was viciously played. thats got to mean something. Remeber this as well back then, it was a more run based defence game. Recevers wernt able to run free without being punished for each catch. I truely beleve if Lynn Swan played in todays game he would have had alot more touchdowns and catches like alot of other recevers that played back then. Compareing records from then to now is silly ,its not the same game.

Your exactly right man,people don't get that you can't compare these teams.The game was way to different,just like who knows how different it will be 30 years from now and we'll see how people will compare a team from then to the Pats of now.Lynn Swan was amazing,he didn't have the big numbers they have now,but he's a HOF cause of the stuff he did in his era.Great receiver and Terry? come on...he'll always be a legend

Funny how you forget to mention that we beat the Browns and the Steelers to get there.Plus no offense but look at the Division the Pats are in now...Phins,Jets and Bill aren't exactly great teams

Bob Griese was out most of the season with a broken bone in his leg. They continued to win with their backup quarterback...not sure if the Patriots could have matched that.

Actually the 1948 Cleveland Browns went undefeated. In fact, it happened in the middle of a 29-game winning streak. BUT... at that time the Browns played in the All-American Football Conference and, although the NFL recognizes records from the American Football League, it does not from the AAFC.

The Bears had 2 undefeated regulars seasons only to lose both times in the championship game (1934, 1942).

Man, that dude that caught that pass against his hemet is my hero! The Miami Dolphins still the only team in history with a perfect season. I can't believe it. I hope the record stands fo another 35 years!

look at the records of the teams that the dolphins played back then
most had losing records if i remember
and its a different game now then back then

and btw EVERY team cheats in one way or another

we definatley got outplayed by the giants so i'm kinda glad they won they deserve it

Hey, it's no fun being a Redskins fan and hasn't been since the first time Gibbs left but I stick with them through thick and thin.

I get upset with what appear to be bad calls but you just gotta let it go and move on. Just getting a wildcard berth was exciting enough and having Darrell Green and Art Monk going to the Hall of Fame was the icing on the cake.

Nothing to be proud of but it's something....every team has its dry season...no doubt the Patriots will be back next year probably more ferocious than they were this season. I believe the Dolphins almost went undefeated the year prior to going undefeated.

Im a pittsburg fan liveing in bengals country So I can tell ya they wanted to linch me around here when Pitt took out Carson not to mention the beating they put on them year in and year out. So weather the strom I do constintly . I just laugh toss on my Loyd Jersy and tell them theres no way you'll ever see a superbowl as long as pitt lives. side note if I turn up missing one hunt down the bengals fans they probaly hung me from a tree somewhere...lol

Just caught the new Reebok ad that aired during Pardon The Interruption on ESPN. It's got the '72 Dolphins in it with Eli Manning. He hands them a package with a football in it with a note that says "enjoy it for one more year." The ad end with a sign that says "Perfectville population 1,est.1972." Funny stuff.

Yeah i saw this today,great stuff...Man the only thing Miami fans had left were Marino's records and the perfect season..we lost the records to Favre and it really would've sucked to lose the title of the only perfect team.
