ha ha sorry guys..I was at Disney for a couple of days

I'm gonna check it out this weekend...to see if it's something I'd like..I've never really owned such an old car, so i gotta make I'm comfortable with it...

240's are very popular, especially in Japan...that's like the Stang of Japan actually...It's suppose to be the best Drifting car to sup up

thanx again for the advice..does the 72 Stang come with A/c?

Well, that's just the thing...you are into drifting, I'm into older classics...so you have to make up your mind what you really want in the end.

You said the back seats are useless for your kids...well...then don't go by your ride's prowess...at this point, it's irrelevant.

I mean...this is the whole point you are trying to sale/barter your 240, correct?

Yes, the Mustang is an old car, and don't expect modern comforts...if that's the case...you might as well try to get a newer station wagon, four door sedan, or SUV...that would fit your current family needs.

But like I said, the old Mustang, as long as you maintain it...it will not depreciate in value.

The A/C was an optional package...some have it, some don't.

Mine didn't...that's why I just bought a full complete kit from Classic Auto Air...it's an awesome company, honest as heck...their products are excellent, they have a great reputation, and will help you with all the technical stuff.

This is the one I bought off eBay, the seller are the guys from Classic Auto Air...more than 3000 sales, and 100% positive feedback...

If that 72 Mustang never had an A/C...this is the kit that will give you A/C (talk to them, they might have cheaper packages to fit your needs)...

Ford Air Conditioning from Classic Auto Air. High Performance / High Efficiency Smart Fit Ford AC Systems and OEM restoration parts.

You would be good to go...on my part, I have to make a lot of modifications, it's a bit more tricky on my 64 1/2...I will have to take down my Eaton steering pump...and replace it with a newer Ford Thompson steering pump...I already bought that one too, lol.

Anyway...now it's all up to you...the ball is on your court...Damien...

P.S. More than likely, that 72 Mustang might rattle a bit...most owners don't go with the trouble of placing sound/heat insulation deadners like Dynamat, Alpha Damp on their rides...I just bought Alpha Damp...three boxes, I'm good to go...

I also put a lot of new toys on the undercarriage, new suspension, shocks, leaf springs, spring, handling gear, etc...so my car rides almost like a new car.

You might have to do that if you find that 72 too stiff and too rattling.

Try it out though...the 72 Mustang had more modern stuff than the 64-66 Mustangs...so you might not need any of those things...hopefully it already comes with an A/C.

he said he'd call me either Saturday or Sunday...but don't think I'm gonna do it.. was told the back seats are just as tight and if that's the case I'd rather keep my 240. I appreciate all the help guys, I would just hate to make the dude drive for 2 hours if the seats are the same

I just knew you weren't going to go ahead with the trade, first of all, you are a rice racer by heart, not a classic car aficionado, second, you have spent and invested a lot of money into your ride, and I fully understand that, and third, that Mustang was a mystery, old cars need to be super inspected, and that Mustang could've had a lot of rust, you just never know.

Either way, I knew what your final verdict was going to be, lol.

I would pay more that stang than you nissan and down the road it is probably a safer investment BUT ny price is more for preference (i like the 240 but love the mustang).

reread Hector's posts - that pretty much is what i would have said

lol don't insult my car..the 240 is far from a ricer...the true definition of a Ricer is a car built for looks, with a huge wing, Rims, ugly bodykit and nothing under the hood

This is the exact same setup mine has

yea that also factored into my decision..you kind of freaked me out after you said that

I've gotten at least 30 different offers for trades, but the Stang was the only one I even thought about..wish it would've been a 90's Cobra
