hey guys, I got a trade offer for my car..what do you think?

The 240sx is mine and it's a beast! ...I have mad money into it and I love it...but when I got it it was missing the back seat and after I got it I realized my kids don't fit in the back..so after all that effort it's time for it to go..i got offered this Mustang..would you do it?

It's the guy's son who wants the 240sx

Look at it this way....The 240 is nice but it's just a car. The Mustang is a classic. As an investment, it will always be easier to sell a vintage mussel car later down the road than just about anything from the '90's. I've got a 72 Mach 1 and a 70 grande in my garage. There is almost nothing better than a vintage 'Stang.....Take the deal!

I had a 71 Mach1 years ago, and there is not much room in the back of that big beasty either. Well, the seat isn't so bad, but I gots some big feet and knobby knees, so I am glad I sat up front.

I would take the Mustang. Classic muscle will keep appreciating. There is no replacement for vintage steel and there are less and less of them every day.

I do gotta say I would get some vintage rallys on there with some big tires rather than the kicks that are on it, but to each his own.

No brainer, that Mustang is a classic, it will not depreciate, and even though your ride is nice and has a lot of stuff, it's just not a classic.

Having said that, really inspect that Stang for rust, but other than that, it's a no brainer.

Yeah check it over real good for any hidden rust. If it checks out, nail that sucker.

Keep in mind that Mustang is not going to perform like your ride, but you can definitely supe it up over time.

In ten years from now, the Mustang will retain or increase in price, no doubt.

Your ride is a 92, it has a long way to go before it stars approaching classic status.

Also, take one of those bendable fridge magnets, and ask permission to place it throughout the Mustang, a little bondo here and there is OK, but a lot of it is not, sometimes those older cars with nice paint jobs are sitting on top of one inch thick giant patches of bondo, that's not a good sign.

The magnet will stick to metal and thin coats of bondo, but if the applied bondo is too thick, the magnet should slide off.

If the owner of the Mustang has tons of pictures and documentation, then that would rule, that would be a good sign.

Check under the carpet for rust as well.

You 240sx has a ton of goodies...you really put in a lot of dough into it...I bet it screams down the street.

But if the Mustang runs decent and has minimal rust (it does look clean as heck in those pictures), I'd make that trade right now...you have a motivated kid...they love those rice racers...but you are older than him...a classic Mustang will suit you much better, Damien.

Damien, are they willing to make an even steven straight up trade?

Or do they want cash on the side?

Don't go for your ride and cash, that's an admission that you have the cheaper item...if you demand a straight up even barter...that tells them your ride is worth as much as theirs...if not more (at least in terms of investing in it).

We all know you never fully get what you put into a ride...especially on a non classic.
