    Favorite 80's cartoons ?

I grew up in the 70's so I probably didn't watch any 80's cartoons unless for a laugh like Hulk Hogan's Rock and Wrestling.

My question is to name your top 5 favorite 80's cartoons ...

Note -- please don't list stuff you discovered later but it was made in the 80's ...

I only want stuff you actually watched back then.

If you're too young, feel free to do 90's -- just say so on your reply

My favorite 80's cartoon was The Super Powers Team. In 1985 I was nine years old and I had seen the adverts in comics for the figures and totally lost my mind!! When the show aired it was the greatest thing to happen to me on Saturday morning since the superfriends ( who never had a toy line). That year for Christmas I go the Batmobile, The Supermobile, and the Lex Soar 7. I still have most of my Super Powers figures from back then. I was willing to fight my sister to the death to get to watch that show.

Transformers,Thundercats and Masters of the universe were my personal top 3....but i was heavily into cartoons back then because i was small...Super Powers,Tigersharks,Spiderman & his amazing friends...tons of them...The 70's had the best music IMO but the 80's had the best tv & toys

As an outside observer of 80's cartoons, my biggest complaint was their animation seemed so junkie and cheap.

Some of them were so bad they made Filmation shows look like Disney cartoons

I love 80s cartoons and watched a ton of them. Very hard to narrow it down to five. Hate to leave out so many I liked.

          Masters of The Universe
          Transformers
          Thundercats
          Jem
          Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

Saturday morning s were not complete without:

            1. Any incarnation of the Super Friends

            2. Scooby Doo

            3. Captain Caveman

            4. Thundar the Barbarian

            5. Dungeons and Dragons

The others mentioned MOTU, Transformers, G.I.Joe etc... were afternoon shows in Little Rock on the only independent station at the time. I loved 'em all. IT was amazing to have cartoons EVERYDAY! Still the Saturday morning stuff of the early to mid 80's were so magical perhaps because of their limited availability.

1.Dirty Pair/Lovely Angels first aired in japan in 1985, During my college break in January of 86 a buddy of mine who was studying in Japan sent me a tape with all 24 episodes of the series which i still have to this day.....It wouldn't be officially released in the USA till years later.....hands down my Fav 80's cartoon

2.Thundercats-my all time Fav American cartoon done by none other than Rankin/Bass this cartoon really blew my mind when i first saw it...still love it

3.Gi Joe- good series solid animation and a boat load of toys!!!

4.Inspector Gadget-cool theme song loads of cool gadgets and voiced by Don Adams what's not to like...

5.Spiderman and his Amazing friends/Incredible Hulk- two of my fav Marvel cartoons

6.Mighty Mouse the New Adventures- absolutely Hilarious version

7.Defenders of the Earth- Flash Gordon,The Phantom, Mandrake the magician and Lothar made for a totally awesome cartoon

8.Mighty orbots- ran only one season but pretty amazing

9.Danger Mouse- awesome spy cartoon that aired on Nickelodeon

10.Voltron Defender of the universe- Taking from the Japanese cartoon Beast King GoLion and Armored Fleet Dairugger XV they re-edited and re wrote from both cartoons to make one of the coolest cartoons from the 80's

                              1) Silverhawks (I would watch it before school)
                              2) Voltron (I would hurry home to watch it! I much preferred the Lions version)
                              3) He-Man
                              4) GI Joe
                              5) Transformers

So many others that I enjoyed....but those were definitely my top 5.
