^ Yeah, and Vampires can't be seen in the mirror and Werewolves are killed by silver.

I just don't buy the whole psychic hoopla.

I think some people are very perceptive - mentalists if you will - but they do not have supernatural psychic abilities. Just my opinion.

And...picking the powerball and winning it and then sharing it with people would be using their powers for the good of others. Never seen one do it.

I believe in hot and cold reading, confirmation bias, selective thinking, and coincidence and that people portraying themselves as clairvoyant make use of these real factors to beguile the willfully self-deceptive.

That's what the psychics tell us, but the authorities really say they're no help: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Psychic...lice_responses In fact, there are more cases where they have caused a great deal of anguish to people by misguiding them about missing loved ones than actually solving cases. From a different article:
Former FBI profiler, behavioral science expert and MSNBC analyst Clint Van Zandt challenges statements about psychics helping law enforcement arguing, "If psychics were truly successful and if their results were not simply the consequence of trickery (at worse [sic]) or good interviewing skills (at best), then why don't law enforcement agencies have psychic detective squads, a real X-Files Unit, or other ways to integrate these paranormal investigative capabilities?"

Having known a few personally I have to say it's all hogwash. Being intuitive and empathetic is a natural trait that I think some just misuse in the guise of divining the future. To each their own but I gotta tell ya those who string people out for money really hack me off.

And to not be able to pick the Powerball for themselves... okay fine but they couls tell me all about those lucky numbers and I'd be glad to consult with one on a regular basis.

One day I'll have to share some stories about these types. Man have I me some looloo's!

Since you are a Disney fan...I'll put it to you this way...

I rather believe Pinocchio, in three foot long nose mode...than all of them charlatans put together.

Us humans use only 10% of our brain.
(Some of us use even less of that, I think...)
There are a lot of areas of the mind, we don't know anything about. I firmly believe that we have capacities that we are not using, or that only a few of us know how to access (knowingly or involuntary). To me, these people are doing what Man was meant to do, using 100% of their potential.
While these people may be considered "psychic", I just see them as beings that are realizing their full potential.

I fully agree that 99,9% of all "psychics" today are frauds, no question about it. But I also believe that the Real McCoy is out there, doing what Humans were meant to be doing. Man was meant to be like the Space Shuttle, flying to the stars, but at this moment, we're just peddling on a tricycle...

I think it was the late 80's, maybe very early 90's in Baltimore, a psychic was beheaded.
