Mine was in 97 and i remember it well as it was a mego batman. I went on to buy a ton of mego items the first year on ebay.

I joined in 98 specifically to purchase the laserdisc of "The Deep". It was almost impossible to find back then as they had recalled it before it was released. I still have it though I watch the Blu-ray now instead of the LD.

I love that Mattel football game. I still have mine from childhood and it still works. I used it a recently as a year ago. Great fun

I joined ebay for a Spider-Man autograph from Mego, it was one of 12 mego items on the site. I got outbid and it really ticked me off. For about 4 months, I'd get super mad when I got outbid. Blame it on being young, I'm really embarassed about that now.

The first thing I won was a broken Captain America car, that was 17th April 1997!

I wish I could remember for sure. My first feedback is April 97 from Chris Walashin...it was either a carded Batgirl or a Flash Gordon playset.

I actually performed a snipe without knowing it on my first item. I found it on ebay and it was ending soon so I registered quick and was able to able to get my bid in with less than a half minute. My next auction I was high bidder until the last few seconds when I got outbid by a sniper. I was stunned and mad and sad. That's when I figured out that sniping was the way to go. I remember many a night setting the alarm for 2 - 3 - 4 in the morning to bid on an item. esnipe is one of the 10 best things to ever happen to me!

Ugh - this is making my brain hurt. I think I bought a couple of golden age comics in a lot.

I was getting more into the weirder golden age comics and I think I was looking for an inexpensive way to try ebay. I paid something like $6 for these and it blew my mind!!!

These aren't scans of my exact issues - but these are the covers of the issues I got:

I specifically LOVE the way the tiger is leaping and the composition of this cover:

I was heavy into collecting vintage Walt Disney memorabilia back then.

I joined in November 1999 and my first purchase was December 11, 1999...a 1934 Mickey Mouse Waddle Book. This one:

March '99...First purchase was a Mono Sgt. Pepper LP complete with the Psychedelic Inner Sleeve. Beautiful vinyl. Paid $98 shipped. I know it was a lot back then...but I had never seen or heard one up until that point. It was the initial reason I got on ebay was to finish my Beatles/McCartney collection. I dabble in Beatles stuff now...but not really IN TO IT like I used to be. It's funny how things evolve...I was going to start buying sleeves from all around the world but it just never materialized. Now with the ebay explosion the way it has been I can't even afford those foreign sleeves anymore.

Their eyes can't hope to see
                              The beauty that surrounds them
                              Isn't it a pity".
