      Monkee fans, eh?

      Me too.

In grade 4 I had a sweatshirt that read "The Monkees are the Greatest!" This was 1966, the height of their popularity. I have most of their music on CD's, even some of the special sets that offered stereo and mono discs. And I have both seasons of The Monkees on DVD. I have never been able to find a copy of that old sweatshirt so last year I bought a Monkees t-shirt. Two, actually. I get positive comments whenever I wear them.

Here's some trivia: Davy Jones was on Ed Sullivan the night of The Beatles' premiere performance. The cast of Oliver were on the same bill and Davy was the Artful Dodger.

I fondly remember those days, but I find that these days I'm quite in agreement with Mrs Gray and Mr Green and very much appreciate those creature comforts because Life is hard, and the kids don't understand. I Love Sundays

Random Factoid: The girl he's dancing with in the clip at the end of that article is Toni Basil (Hey Mickey!).

            I'm still numb from this.

Liked the Monkees since I was a little kid. One of my earliest memories is sitting on the floor watching the show trying to sing along with the songs.

Nice tribute at work today, the guest carillonneur played Daydream Believer during the recitals.

I have to say that I have been pleasantly surprised by the huge outpouring of love for Davey! You never know how the public will react (if much at all) and it is so nice to see that he will be missed by so many people.
