The first album I ever bought on my was a Monkees Greatest Hits I had to mail away for. I saved my allowance for weeks! Then came anxiously sitting through Monkees reruns for 4-6 weeks until it finally came. It had a pretty basic cover with a sketch (I think) of the band and their logo in red (again, if memory serves). I played the heck out of it and still pretty much know all the words to each of those songs!WANTED - Solid-Boxed WGSH's, C.8 or better.Comment

Sad. It's fun to listen to that bubble gum rock every now and then and Jones had one of the genre's best voices.

I had recently replaced my tapes w/CD's. Really like The Monkees tunes. Davy always looked the youngest out of them all that you wouldn't think he might pass away. I also appreciate Reuters spot-on reporting. This is the most accurate description of the band:

That makes me very sad. The Monkees were such a bright spot in childhood, I loved them to death. I even have the hits CD, which I still play (rarely tho) when I want a perk up.
That was far too young.

Big Monkees fan as a kid, and I still enjoy their music from time to time. Davy always seemed like the most approachable of the Monkees on interview and biography shows.
I feel like I lost a childhood friend. RIP.
