    1. Shawshank Redemption
    2. The Green Mile
    3. Misery

I think those are the best 3 films. I don't know which are the best 3 books as i have never read one.

by the way a remake is in the works for the Stand as a big budget film. I think Ben Aflek is directing

That's cool news. Not sure how they are going to fit all of that material into a movie though. I loved the 90's miniseries.

The book "Misery" is even better than the movie and more graphic. If memory serves me right, her hobbling technique wasn't a sledgehammer but much more gruesome.

One of his best. I can still hear that raspy voice.

My favorite scene in the whole movie is at the end when the roaches bust out of the guys body. Couldn't sleep that night after seeing that.

Also love it when the thing in the box jumps out and eats Adrienne Barbeau.

My dear mother gave me Misery to read as a teenager when I was laid up with a shattered ankle. I have no doubt whose sense of humor I inherited.

The Shining is a great movie but the book, like so many of Kings film adaptations, is sooo different from the film. Since it doesn't matter though
                            1. The Shinning
                            2 Stand By Me
                            3 Misery

A few years ago I went to an event at Radio City to see something called "An Evening With Harry, Carrie, and Garp. It was fund raiser that featured J.K. Rowlings, Stephen King, and John Irving. Each author spoke about what goes in to their writing, how they approach a story, and they each read an excerpt from something they had written. King chose the "pie eating contest" from The Body. He was extremely funny and engaging and just an all around cool guy!
"Many Shubs and Zuuls knew what it was to be roasted in the depths of the Sloar that day I can tell you."
