Kudos to our most prolific American writer...so many to choose from.

    2. The Green Mile (1999)
    3. The Shining (1980)

      I'm going to go with:

      1. Shawshank Redemption
      2. Creepshow
      3. (tie) Silver Bullet and The Dead Zone

Honestly, there are too many good ones. I love most of his work -- Carrie, The Shining, and Salem's Lot are right up there too.

Also a big fan of The Mist.

I would love to see "Under the Dome" made into a feature length movie.

        1) Stand By Me
        2) The Shining
        3) The Dead Zone

I think "Misery" and "Shawshank Redemption" were also really good - and "The Running Man" is a fun movie.

I know people love "Carrie", but aside from Spacek's performance I was never nuts about it. Then again, I just usually don't like De Palma movies much.

          1) Salem's Lot
          2) Christine
          3) The Shining

I have to call those my favorites because I watch them numerous time every year. Classics! They may not artistically be the "best" in the King translations to film, but they are certainly the most popular with me.

                  1. Shawshank Redemption
                  2. Stand By Me
                  3. A near tie between Misery and The Shining but have to go with The Shining

Now, if you asked me what book I think is the scariest; "IT" hands down. The made of TV miniseries just could not convey the horror on film that was written on the pages of the book...IMO. The miniseries was good and I still think would scare a lot of people, but darn if that book didn't give me the heebie jeebies which is pretty unusual.

The IT miniseries was good with the clown...until that stupid spider showed up at the end...and messed up everything...lol.

Most definitely Salem's Lot and the Stand, and they are too close for me to pick a number 1. Heck, I think the recent version of Salem's Lot would be my number 3. Those are my two favorite books also.

I bet anyone who saw Tim Curry dressed as a clown would scared silly.
