The first Christmas gift you asked for

When you're really little, the concept of Christmas, (no matter what your beliefs), kinda escapes you. But usually by age 3 kids are at least getting the idea that they can ask for stuff and sometimes get it. When I was 3, I clearly remember asking for a Baby Catch-a-Ball doll:

Having a doll that played ball w/ you was an exciting concept for a preschooler! I have another story about this doll, but I'll save that for another time.

So, Mego or not, what's the first present you clearly recall asking Mommy, Daddy or even Santa Claus for?
"Do you believe, you believe in magic?
'Cos I believe, I believe that I do,
Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."

The first gift I remember asking Santa Claus for was the Evel Knievel stunt cycle.

The first gift I remember asking for was a Knickerbocker Little Orphan Annie doll and a bike. I got both. Still have the doll

                  Hmmmm....

My folks still have one of my first letters to Santa. I asked for a Sandman uniform and gun, from Logan's Run.

                  I was an odd kid.

Mmm...kinda hard to pinpoint that one...I remember my few first Christmas toys...I believe it was a Mr Potato Head, Legos...a couple of packs of those little toy soldiers (one green, one blue)...a Hot Wheels race track set....and a Dr Seuss Cat in the Hat book.

I never did the Santa thing but the first time I remember asking for something specific was Christmas 1976, I was 12 and had gotten into Star Trek that summer and I asked for and got the Mego Bridge set, Spock, McCoy, Uhura & Klingon.

I actually never got any great gifts from Santa.

Santa's gifts were mostly peripheral junk ...

I really don't remember asking for anything specific....my big memory was being handed the Sears or Montgomery Wards catalog and circling items on my Christmas list. My parents never asked but simply went through the items we circled and purchased a few things from their budget. I do remember asking for a Fuzz head G.I. Joe. I didn't even know this was a G.I. Joe that predated the Fuzz Heads until I was adult.
