The way they work Hec is they will cause a lot of bad PR for McD's just like Sperlock's film did and if it reaches critical mass McD will bow to them. They will win in the court of Public Opinion. The public will become uncomfortable eating McRibb knowing the animals may have been tortured and sales will drop and the item might not come back. They will not end the eating of meat for the world but they can and will embarrass McD's to the point where some items are dropped from the menu.
I have a friend on FB who I knew in H.S. and she is a Militant Vegan. She always insists eating meat is no good, everyone should stop, blahblahblah... I have had it out with her several times but she will not bend. I explained to her. It is a personal choice. You can't force others to become Vegan too but she has become a Comic Book Super-Villain. She only knows how to monologue and dictate. As far as I'm concerned she falls under George Carlin's rule now: "Anyone who takes themselves too seriously deserves to become the butt of a joke!"
