With all the hype the wife gave into her urge and off to McDonald's we went. Being that you can add one for a $1 I got one. Well, this time around I only made it through two bites before my taste buds said, "Dude, seriously... quit." She was again thrilled and content I however am still hoping that the lingering grease coasting on my tongue will soon leave me.Every other year I give one a shot but the end results is still the same, I just can' get all the way through it. It's weird. The first bite is pretty good, the second seems a little different, the third it feels like there is a greasy residue in my mouth and by the fourth I just have to stop. My wife however loves them with a passion. In this instance it goes to show that opposites do indeed attract.
Seriously the meat is grey folks. What the heck is all that about?

I haven't had one in years. Had my Buy one; get the second for $1 last night.
Jim with all that BBQ sauce I don't know how you can tell it's greasy! I do love the larger slices of onions on it tho. Maybe I'll buy again Monday for dinner. Yummerszzzz!Comment

Something has changed in their formula. In college it was a ritual to eat them when released, but the modern sandwich isn't nearly as good...or maybe I'm just smarter. It's just not what I remembered.I almost had a psychic girlfriend but she dumped me before we met.
If anyone here believes in psychokinesis, please raise my hand.Comment

I'm a consumer, rather than a connoisseur, and I am a huge fan of On-Cor's stuff. I especially like their salisbury steak and lasagna. It's only like $2.29 or something and taste as good as any salisbury steak I've ever had. Having said that, I'm not sure I've ever had any I haven't liked. Homemade lasagna's obviously better, but On-Cor's cheap and fast. I could always add some cottage cheese to it.
Good news about the McRib, though. Definitely have to grab a couple while they're here.Comment

Perhaps its the BBQ sauce that gives it that greasy taste? Being that I really enjoy BBQ I really would like to like these but there's just something not right about them. Such a strange texture to the 'meat' as well.Comment

Its actually a very interesting and complex process, resulting in what is called Pseudomeat. They begin by blending moist cat food with shredded newspaper and Armour Potted Meat, and the mixture is then shaped into any given form and allowed to dry in the sun. Pseudomeat is taking the convenience food world by storm, and can readily be found as the main ingredient in such treats as service station hot dogs and venging machine sloppy joes!

UPDATE: It appears there is a flaw in this years design (well at least here in Harrison, Arkansas). Something was indeed not right with our sandwiches from last night as my wife got a bit down in her belly this morning. It appears the McRib has again done it's damage.
So sad, she really like those things. AS for me, I'm a gimp and couldn't help but add in an "I told ya so". I know, I know, "Jerk."

Yeah I dunno Jim ...
Mine were pretty Tastey ..., Maybe could qualify as 2 of the best 1's I've eaten ever ....
What sucks about a place like McDonalds, or any fast food chain for that matter, is the inconsistant product. I know last year I did get a McRib from this 1 store I sorta didn't like...., and really didn't like compaired to the Sandwiches I had boughten at all the other chains.... I haven't tried one yet but know it is one of those cult like McDonald's items that comes and goes. My favorite new addition had been the "Mac" snack wrap. Haven't had a "Big Mac" for years because I try to stay away from bread. I don't really remember seeing a commercial for it but had to pick up dinner one night in a rush over to one of my kid's activities. They had two for $3.18 so I figured I'd give it a try. It was heaven in a tortilla for me."The farther we go, the more the ultimate explanation recedes from us, and all we have left is faith."

Canada got them back this summer, I normally avoid McDs (the occasional breakfast) but I made a trip immediately. I would equate the experience to running into your highschool sweetheart and finding out she's a boring jerk.Places to find PlaidStallions online: https://linktr.ee/Plaidstallions

Hahaha! Yeah, I tried one of these last year after this very thread popped up and gotta say that I was less than impressed. For me they taste like some pre-made microwavable sandwich you'd buy outta the freezer section at yr local grocer. And I'm not approaching this as some sorta pretentious "foodie". I like BAD food. It's just the McRib is sorta over the top bad......Comment
