---that was the start of my CD buying (after that gift of course)
EDITED to say I didn't have my own CD player til TEN years (plus) after
Bob got his!Last edited by huedell; Dec 20, '07, 12:59 AM."No. No no no no no no. You done got me talkin' politics. I didn't wanna'. Like I said y'all, I'm just happy to be alive. My first CD was "Bad Animal" by Heart. I think my second was the album by Billy Joel that had "Goodnight Saigon" on it, I loved that song.
My first CD player was a Fisher. It was a piece of junk. It had no suffle, scan, etc; it only had FF REV, Play, and Stop. Plus it skipped more than an 8 year old girl in a hopscotch tournament!!!Last edited by theantiquetiger; Dec 20, '07, 12:48 AM.sigpicComment

Hmmmm....
"Triumph: Classics." I still have my original CD player. It was a CD/tape/radio portable jobbie; and it's sitting right next to me as I write. The CD player doesn't work any more, and I use it to listen to the radio while I check my e-mail.

The Joshua Tree. I got my first CD player in 87. Before that it was all records for me.You must try to generate happiness within yourself. If you aren't happy in one place, chances are you won't be happy anyplace. -Ernie BanksComment

My next door neighbor owns a record store and I gave him a box of records one time I picked up at a garage sale. I asked him what records are rare and he told me some early "Public Enemy" and "2 Live Crew" albums that do not contain the parental advisory sticker are pretty valuable. These two bands are the major reason the label was added. He said he had recently sold an unopened 2LC CD, "Banned in the USA" for nearly $200.sigpicComment

I remember it well....Genesis 3 Sides Live.
I'm always a late technology adopter and didn't purchase my first CD player until around 1987 or so."The farther we go, the more the ultimate explanation recedes from us, and all we have left is faith."

I was a vinyl junkie and disliked CDs just because I felt you got so much more with vinyl.
As time went on I realised that they were the future and had to cave in.
The first CD I bought was Achtung Baby by U2 - I didn't even have a CD player at the time and bought a copy on vinyl as well. I used my brothers CD player to listen to it. I carried on buying vinyl well into the early 90s - big mistake really because all i'm doing now is replacing it all on CD.
I'm not into the downloading thing at all - although CD packaging is smaller I still want packaging."I should say I`m very much cleverer than any of the people who put me here. As a matter of fact, I could leave any time I wanted. It`s only a doll`s house after all. Anyway, I don`t mind. I like dolls" - The Mad Hatter, Arkham Asylum.Comment
