I visited the Twin Towers back in '86 when I was attending Joe Kubert's School of Art in Dover, New Jersey. However, I loved standing outside where, during that moment, was famous for being the spot where Kong "landed" in the '76 remake. Who knew that same spot would become ground zero? What most don't realize is the Towers had this huge shopping center below it. And when the first tower collapsed, I not only thought about the people in the Tower, but those who may have been underneath it. Those shots above really illustrate just how high the Towers penetrated the sky. It seemed impossible could collapse. Incredibly sad.
