Just read it. Hope everyone is okay.
I understand how nerve racking it can be. Being through so many in my life in California and Washington, I still can't get over it. We are expecting a major one up here too.
We had to evacuate the building I work in for 10 minutes. First one for me and also didn't feel like shaking...more of a vibration type feeling that goes through your entire body.

Weird thing was it didnt feel like I thought an earthquake would feel like.
Instead of shaking, this was more like swaying --- like the world was on a hammock or waterbed
Really weird feeling
Sounds like a surface wave quake. That rolling feeling.
Just be ready for aftershocks. I don't mean to scare you but they will happen, usually smaller so not a big deal. Just stay calm cool and collected. Away from glass and falling objects. Might be a good idea to hang out in an open field or area.
Stay safe!
Unconfirmed News reports say the Washington Monument is slightly leaning from it.
Here in NYC I hear the torch from the Statue of Liberty fell off and nearby there is a woman holding a crying child with tears streaming down hear face screaming: “WHY!!! Why!!!?!?!?!?!?”
Seriously, I was packing an item for someone from this board RIGHT at the moment it hit. Good omen! Package on it’s way!
Yeah I'm in new york city. I felt the shake at my office at work. It felt like a huge vibration under my feet. I thought they were just working on the floor underneath me.
