Hey, At the rate this economy keeps going in the toilet I cannot say that I blame you one bit.

I have been thinking about mounting some heavy artillery on my Hummer at this rate. Maybe adding a few more sand bags around the house/compound. You know just sprucing the place up a tad.

I saw you mentioned a short grip. Were you thinking about getting a pistol grip? If so you might want to take a look at these: http://www.botachtactical.com/knbrgr.html. I've got one on my Remington 870 Express Magnum and it's very nice. A pistol grip without a recoil reduction mechanism would be a bear to shoot on a 12 guage.

We've been looking to pick up a .22 shotgun. We have bobcats in the area.

We have a glock for home defense, but it seems like overkill for a bobcat.

But not for an intruder.

I've got the Maverick 88 for $157 and am very pleased with it. I use it during deer season here and for home protection.

You definitely have to be prepared to kill if self defense is a primary motivation. I believe the law in most of the land is that you can only use one if your life is in peril. With that said, you don't want another side of the story.
