I go to Great Lakes Naval here near Milwaukee, I had a WA surgeon come in and do the gum 'grafting' and whole procedure for FREE.

Now, after my 2nd year long stint, I'm getting my crowns replaced for no charge. It SUCKS being away for a year each time, but I can't knock the perks. They ask me if I want root canals done.., and I say 'SURE'..!! For FREE..?? Just do 'em!

My normal federal dental coverage SUCKS, which irritates me, but again, it's the deployments that have been savin' my neck (well.., teeth..) up to now.
Awesome you now get it for free...you deserve it...by serving your country proudly...you should get some nice perks...my friend...

Not that you want these things to happen, but if they do, our medical plan is second to none, I think. It's available for every tax paying resident, and we pay like a $100 premium per year.
Oh...I have almost 100% complete medical coverage...when I got really sick back in 2004...I went through five surgeries...a six month hospital stay...and almost an entire year at a nursing facility for rehabilitation...I paid next to nothing.

However...dentistry is seen here as more of a luxury than medical...like I previously said...I do have dental insurance...but it only covers about 30%...unlike my 100% medical coverage...that's why I'm stuck with that bill.

Glad you guys get great medical coverage. How about your dental? Same type of coverage?

Hope your wife is doing a lot better.

That and I am a firm believer in that you get what you pay for. Most of the time anyway in my experience.

I really regret to hear that you have to endure all of that Hec. It does not sound like a lot of fun at all. Best wishes to a very speedy recovery.

I tend to agree. I cannot say that I have ever been thrilled or over joyed by going to the Dentist although it sure beats the alternative.

When it is all done and over with you will be very grateful later.

You know what I think sucks is that my Dentist and probably most of yours to will go out of the US and fix other peoples teeth for free. Of course WE end up footing the bill.

My wife is doing a bit better now. Slowly but surely getting back on her feet. After eight months in and out of hospital, we've certainly had our share. Thanks for asking, Hector!!!

Dental insurance is pretty good over here, but more expensive than surgery, for example. Isn't it insane that teeth and eyes are considered "a luxury"?
Glasses can set you back about $500 here. I would think it's in everybody's interest that we all have good vision!
Basically, some repeat trips to the dentist may cost you more than life-threatening illnesses that you need serious surgery for.
I don't know who sets up all these rules, but I think HE needs a decent pair of glasses more than I do....

I recently had a tooth pulled and that set me back $587, I think I am in the wrong line of work.

True, but basic dental stuff, like pulling a tooth or getting your teeth checked up and cleaned is cheap as hell and you get part of your money back.

The funny thing is that my medical covers all my vision stuff...I get a new pair of reading glasses every other year...no charge. Now I want to get this really cool Clark Kent-type glasses...that would be awesome...I'm tired of these thin-framed designer crap...lol...
