Hang in there Hector! Sorry to hear all this as I know the feeling. Im out of work and not able to work due to seizures. Yet not accepted for disability as of yet.

I too need a hernia repair in the belly button. My appendix were removed thru the belly button many years ago, after that i develpoed the hernia. So soon i need to get in and get the button repaired.

Now thinkin i better call my dentist- been a long time here too.

Get well , good luck and feel better

At least it's not just England ripping us off when it comes to dentistry. I had open wallet surgery performed on me for a route canal, which came to $1,400, and that's just one tooth! It's no wonder you see so many people with no teeth nowadays .

Hope it all goes well and you're not in too much discomfort (lighter bank acccount aside) afterwards.

This is the only area where Belgium has the upper hand.
My wife was hospitalized for cancer treatments and a hip replacement, and we ended up paying about $500 for everything.
Not that you want these things to happen, but if they do, our medical plan is second to none, I think. It's available for every tax paying resident, and we pay like a $100 premium per year.

                      That's insane!!!
                      How about a dental college?
Usually you can get the work done for a fraction of the cost.
Hope it works out dude that's a major punch to the old wallet.

                        Hector..

Your example makes me thank GOD I do Army Deployments:

After my first deployment, I really needed to have gum work done, since I've had a lot of gum dissipation in the front of my lower jaw. Easily $8-10 grand of work to have it done in the private sector.

I go to Great Lakes Naval here near Milwaukee, I had a WA surgeon come in and do the gum 'grafting' and whole procedure for FREE.

Now, after my 2nd year long stint, I'm getting my crowns replaced for no charge. It SUCKS being away for a year each time, but I can't knock the perks. They ask me if I want root canals done.., and I say 'SURE'..!! For FREE..?? Just do 'em!

My normal federal dental coverage SUCKS, which irritates me, but again, it's the deployments that have been savin' my neck (well.., teeth..) up to now.

Glad to hear that you have at least seeked out second opinions. My wife is a Dental Hygienist and just a routine cleaning is well over $100 around here. She is really smart when it comes to this stuff and one time I encouraged her to go to dental school but she didn't want to sacrifice family. She told me that most dentists she has worked for are honest but has worked for a few that walk a fine line. They make a ton of money doing major dental work and she thinks that some of the dentists are a bit too aggressive in their treatment recommendations. The price doesn't surprise me though and I kind of look at teeth as I do other parts of my body. If I needed surgery on my pinky finger I wouldn't just say cut it off because I didn't want to pay the cost...the same goes with teeth. I don't want to have missing teeth.
