^The aftershocks have been that strong. From what I've gathered there are a lot of homeless in Tokyo they are opening public places like theatres and concert halls to house folks who cannot go anywhere. This is like Katrina times 4.

The 6.6 aftershock was in Nagano/Niigata- Tokyo is hurting in terms of electricity and trains/planes/automobiles running, but they're largely ok. The "family" I have over there is mainly in Niigata, which got hit with a lot of the shaking, but mercifully they're on the northwestern coast, and the tsunami devastation was mainly confined to the east (Pacific) side."If you take a dog which is starving and feed him and make him prosperous, that dog will not bite you. This is the primary difference between a dog and a man."

I've got friends who live in Funabashi in the Chiba prefecture, east of Tokyo. Haven't been able to hear anything from them yet.Comment

Watched the Tsunami as it literally ripped through the countryside at 2AM Friday...just devastating. As I was watching I felt for the helicopter pilots that were getting the pics of the Tsunami as it was happening...I couldn't even imagine how heartbreaking it was to feel completely helpless above it all....watching your country get destroyed by a massive tidal wave. I think I would have completely lost it."When not too many people can see we're all the same
And because of all their tears,
Their eyes can't hope to see
The beauty that surrounds them
Isn't it a pity".

Looking at this DropBox...
Google Japan - Drop Box
...reminds me of the day after 911 walking from Penn Station to my Job on 44th Street (Yes...I had to be there the day after)...every single window and pole was covered with signs of missing loved ones...
My Wife's Family has all been accounted for, but day-to-day things are starting to get tough to find (Eggs, Milk, Water, etc) for some of them and the others who can work, can't cause the subway/train lines aren't running so they have to either walk (2+ hrs) or seek other transportation...
Most people in Japan get paid once a month on the 15th of each month and with the Banks & Financial Institutions in disarray...well...people are starting to get concerned.Everyone is Entitled to MY Opinion...Your's, not so much!Comment

This whole nuclear plant issue is starting get scary. I just heard the other day that at least one plant is being filled with sea water to keep it from melting but will totally ruin the plant from operations. I imagine this is going to be horrible once the dust settles."The farther we go, the more the ultimate explanation recedes from us, and all we have left is faith."
