    Massive earthquake hits Japan

The biggest earthquake ever recorded in Japan (8.9)! The tsunami following has been really devistating also. We should keep the Japanese in our thoughts and prayers. JOHN

Words can not fully express my shock. This is terrible. Those poor people have my prayers. Good Lord. The images are unspeakable. A massive tragedy. The images and footage coming in are just off the charts.

Unbelievable damage....I can't even comprehend some of the images I've seen this morning...It's definitely off the charts as Tom said. And it looks like the West Coast and Hawaii are going to get nailed by the tsunami.

This is the real important stuff the world should be worried about instead of the exploits of a certain Vatican Assassin Warlock

Yeah. I just spoke to my son Gregg, who is stationed out in Hawaii. The Marines have moved to higher ground. Their saying the Tsunami wave should be about 6 feet.

Horrible to look at. Hopefully the aftershocks will calm down soon.
            It's all good!

I was up late last night finishing some work, and saw when the news broke. It was unreal to watch as it unfolded and the Tsunami came inland and just rolled over everything....It was unreal and all I kept thinking were the people who were in it's destructive path......

Have you seen the photos? My God -- and I don't mean this in any even slightly humorous way -- the damage is that off-the-scale Godzilla movie kind of stuff.

I have a friend with in-laws in Japan -- Don't know where exactly, and I haven't heard anything from him yet on how they are.

                      Insane. I just found out.
I hope there weren't too many casualties.
I wonder how is this going to affect the global economy, let alone, the US.
Even more so, how it's going to affect the toy market.

It's amazing...for all of our technology...we are still pretty much helpless on this planet. Mother nature can be ruthless.

                        Tragic...very tragic.

It appears to be a callous statement to some but those that know me will know I'm not a superficial person and this too is the least of my concerns albeit none at all.
However, this being a board of collectors I brought up the point so people keep this point in mind down the road.
But first and foremost is my concern of the livelihoods those devastated by this force of nature.
Yes, with all the tech in the world and evolution happening within mankind it certainly doesn't amount to a hill of beans in comparison to nature's wrath.
