I thought Van Williams portrayed the Green Hornet well. He seemed very driven. He was convincing in both roles. He seemed intimidating to criminals, and trust-worthy to the folks who always came to Reid for help.

That being said, I still liked the new movie. It's a different take. And since no other take has really been done in 40 years (other than two comic series), it's not like there was a great deal of Green Hornet lore for folks to get attached to.

I'm not a big Bruce Lee fan, although I do like his Kato portrayal better than the radio drama. When I first started watching the series all those years ago, it was b/c of Van Williams. I love the heroes who are dashing, smart, funny, no-nonsense, and can really kick some butt! That was Van Williams' Hornet all over.

Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."

You are one of the very few on Earth who watched the Green Hornet because of Williams.

Williams is not worthy of being mentioned in the same sentence as Bruce Lee...not in a billion-trillion-quadrillion years.

No...no smilies here...Bruce Lee is one of my all time heroes....and I'm not Chinese...but I know how much he meant for not just the Asian community...but for kids from around the world.

I remember as a kid in Mexico...everybody knew and loved Bruce Lee...no one had a clue who Van Williams was.

What a crying shame the way he was treated...by getting David Carradine for Kung Fu...instead of Lee (who was promised the role, but was too Chinese for American TV...wow, the irony)...a shameful act of absurdity...and a slap to the Chinese people.

Bruce Lee is relevant (even in death)...Williams is not.

Unless you are a mind reader, there is no way in the world you could possibly know that. Just because most of the people you knew watched it for Bruce Lee, doesn't mean everyone did. I'm sure there are other people in this world who watched it for Van Williams. After all, the name of the show was THE GREEN HORNET, and that part was played, after all, by Van Williams.

                    I'm done replying to this.
