and look at the age range that fueled it in the article. 25 and under generation Y'rs they know nothing about the 60's tv show heck they werent even born
    Not so according the article.

From the Box Office mojo article:
Distributor Sony Pictures's exit polling indicated that The Green Hornet's audience was 61 percent male and evenly split over and under 25 years old.
    It's an even split.

"kind of kickback from fans or those who take this genre seriously"

So apparently anyone who doesn't hate this film, doesn't take superheroes seriously. Nice.

I certainly "get" being offended by the reinvention of the character in this movie. The first thing I said in my review was stating that very thing. Certainly, shows like Batman Brave and the Bold have shown us that there is no room in the modern world for more than one version of a superhero. Especially a comic one.

So like I said, I get how diehards might not like the film. What I don't get is the negative attitude towards those who like it.

Went to see this tonight. Dragged my wife along simply because of this post. Wanted to see how someone not at all into the superhero genre but aware of it viewed it.

I thought the movie was entertaining. It was funny I read someone post about the Batman TV series, because it could be comparable. A little bit of comedy mixed in with basically the original story line of a guy trying to make the world a better place. Of course Biff Bam and Pow are now hi energy special effects and well staged stunts and CGI.

My wife liked it as well. I'll buy it when it comes out. It was a good story and the eye candy is there as well. I'd like to see a part two that develops the characters deeper. IMO they should have cast a no name in Cameron Diaz's slot. It would make it easier to take the character to the next level if part 2 becomes a reality as well as keeping the budget down. I thought the same about Paltrow in Ironman though I think she pulled it off well in both movies.
It's not a doll it's an action figure.

This movie made The Green Hornet look like a self-centered, moronic, loud, stubborn and annoying person. If this is what you're looking for in a hero, than this is the movie for you...
I was bored halfway through, most of the humor is aimed at teenagers (what a surprise), and the highlights seem to be "kicking someone in the nuts". The Hornet treats Kato like **** throughout the whole movie, and does nothing more than "I want to have sex with Cameron Diaz".
Glad to see that Christoph Waltz decided to follow-up his Academy Award winning performance with this high-class piece of..drama....ahum...

All you get all of that in 3D!!!
            Wow!!!!
I'm so glad I got off my couch and away from my DVD collection....

No disrespect to the people who loved it, I'm glad you did, so your money wasn't wasted. It's just that I see nothing of the original concept of TGH in this portrayal. If Superman was portrayed in this fashion, there would be rioting in the streets.

^ I was (very mildly) afraid of this...but expected it really.

I'm not trying to come off as a cynical ******* here, I swear, but just gauging the marketing and who they got to play the GH..ehhh..seems like a huge flop-o to me...

I'm not degrading Seth Rogan, not a bit, but he's not the person to be attached to this, sorry.

I dont have any 'issues' with Howard Stern either, but I wouldnt care to see him cast as Benjamin Franklin.....would you?

The GH should not get the 'Semple treatment', no way. Certain properties/characters, sure, of course, but NOT GH. I love the Flash Gordon 'camp/erotica' treatment, but the 60s BatMan series left me wondering...... Lorenzo himself says it best:
