    Green Hornet Review Spoiler Free

I saw a preview last night. Let me first say that while I know who the characters are, I'm not a huge fan and there is no definitive version for me (unlike say Batman or Superman). So if they made major changes, it wouldn't both me.

I also don't think I've seen Seth Rogan in a movie before. I liked his style of comedy, but if you don't you probably won't like this movie.

All in all, I really enjoyed it. It's a COMEDY/ action/ adventure with the emphasis on the comedy. Seth walks a fine line between making Britt/ the Hornet an arrogant ***** for laughs and a hero, but for me the mix worked well. He is a spoiled rich brat, but his heart is in the right place. If you want your Hornet to be the stainless steel hero type, then this isn't your Hornet. The best part of the film is really the relationship between Kato and the Hornet. These guys have chemistry and anytime they're on the screen it's a fun ride to watch.

My only complaint would be the action scenes toward the tend to go a little too far trying to play for laughs and end up kind of silly. But after such a fun 2/3s of the movie, it's not that bad.

I'd give it a B+ and definately recommended it.

Better review than I had anticipated.

By the way, the SyFy network had a Green Hornet marathon earlier in the week.

Just got back from seeing it. Very fun movie! I agree about the chemistry between Rogen and Chou. Rogen played it great - kind of a bumbler, but not over -the-top Jim Carey like. Highly recommend.

With the Hornet, I think it's generational. If you didn't grow up with the show, there is nothing for you to find wrong with the film. If you did, everything is wrong with it. Even Van Williams (the original Green Hornet) doesn't like it. Its for teenagers who think the use of four letter words is "clever". The critical mass hates it and it's barely above fresh even in the community rating. It will be gone in a few weeks.

MIB41, I think you're way off and venting your own frustration at the movie. But to each his own man.

Venting? You haven't heard me vent if that's what you think. A lot of us have a different opinion. I don't believe I attacked you, so let's not start calling people out directly because you happen to disagree with their opinion.

Not true, There were a lot of Old Folks my age around me and they were roaring with laughter.

I grew up with the Old Hornet and have the bootlegs.....I loved it.

I don't recall many four letter words. It was just a fun movie. Why do you have to compare it to the t.v. series? Can't a movie stand on it's own? I'm a huge Bruce Lee fan, but I didn't judge this Kato to him. Also, to be fair - it's a bit of a stretch to think of Van Williams as some great actor that Rogen is so inferior too
